That 1903 Premier.... ;D I want to hear that thing run!
I know it's "1903", and most likely the word 'overkill' didn't exist yet, but that company must be called the founders of that word... :D
Look at the chain-link on the leftside of the car. That's not something you would want to get your coat or you hand caught up in that...
we had a damned good time there today....I haven't been in there in almost 10 years, they've done some renovations.
The sheer size of some of those old engines.....there's one in there that was, what, 800-some cubes?
It was a friggin' 4-CYLINDER!!
Like that chain-drive on the Premiere, BBM?
There are so many stories to be told if you just take the time to listen....I can just imagine the tales those cars could tell.
Seeing other things like the helmets, the one individual's ENTIRE trophy collection(I forget the fellow's name, the Hulman family opened their home to him for recuperative purposes after sustaining injuries in a 500 race)......that in itself is worth the $3.00 admission price.
Finally getting to ride the bus ON the track was cool.....I was sorely tempted to heckle the bus driver to stand on it in the straights...LMAO
There is a lot of good stuff the public doesn't get to see.....the rest of the collection down in the basement(that horde is seen only by special permission).
