Limits on a stock 08 Mustang GT ( the engine, trans, etc.. )

Anybody know how much horsepower it takes to ventilate a 4.6 24V SOHC V8 08 version ? How strong is the TR3650 5-speed ? Rest of the car?

Way stronger than the 2 valve versions which would blow up around 550-600 hp or so. I think ive seen a couple 3 valves pushing 650hp, but im not sure if that's a stock bottom end or not.

really depends on the power adder your using.

Ive seen turbo cars hit 700s and live on safe tunes

I think Justin Burcham hit almost 750 before he sent parts flying

the trans... stock clutch will hold you to about 450ish, the trans will snap a input shaft around 500

the rear end, typical 8.8 so you win some, you lose some lol and a 1 piece DS is necessary if you plan on launching it hard

I'd put a shifter in it, because the stocker is junk. I'd put on wheels and tires to make it "mine." And nothing else.

DF did you actually like your 2001 Bullitt, or do you regret it? I know you thought it was kinda on the slow side, but do you wish you had bought an LS1 car instead?

To me, the perfect late-model would be an '01 Bullitt (or New Edge car) with an LS1 in it.

I don't like the Mod motors and and I don't like any cars that the LS1s or Gen IIIs come in.

I regret buying the Bullitt because I lost like $15,000 on it. If I had lower expectations of speed I would have really liked it. I like the car's look, interior, tunes, and handling. It's just gutless and in California you can't legally do a lot about that.
