  • The 1960's-Era Gassers

    Whether the authentic record-busting G-Gassers,
and/or street/strip cars with the Gasser "look".
this "style" always been among the personal favorites
for many, & still used as a "template" for builds today.

Have memories of guys getting brand-new musclecars
who immmediately began doing the "Gasser-profile" mods
before being satisfied with their car. Many of the 50s-era
rods also began morphing into the Gasser world of the '60s.

Do you have some favorite Gassers, whether pro or street?

What do you associate w/the "must-haves" for the Gasser-look?

Any personal "Gasser-related" stories or pics? --- TIA!!

          Re: The 1960's-Era Gassers

I too have always loved Gasser's, from the 50's & 60's type Stones-Woods-Cook to the NHRA's gas class Vettes. I remember being at Ontario Motor Speedway for the Super Nationals and the Reher/Morrison Corvette with the late Lee Shepard at the wheel of a screaming 288 ci engine @ 10,000 rpm. He would launch that thing and pull 2nd gear on the five speed Nash box before the front tires ever hit the ground. Then it would pull the wheels again in 3rd gear. What a sight....

I shot this one just the other nite at Art Chrismans Christmas party.

This was out at Barry Whites a couple weeks ago.

I have lot's more... but there on my computer. Maybe I'll upload them to down load here later.... then again that's a pain... :
There are very few people in this world who's opinion I value, you are not one of them.

David put that " IDA AUTOMOTIVE" in the historic pages of Hot rod a while back... it's Bob Ida who's currently HOOKED on running Maxton and Bonneville with a truck...

            SUPER nice guy....

Mike LeFever's is being Nice.... Mike Cook's dad is Doug Cookie Cook... of Stone Woods and Cook fame... so we know the guy really well... and he's one of our friends and mentors...
