  • William "Sam" Yunick Died

    William "Sam" Yunick, 42, son of of racing legend, Henry Smokey Yunick, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 27, 2008. Sam was a graduate of Georgia State and began his journey as an entrepreneur in Atlanta, Georgia in August 1991. Sam and his wife, Sharon, started with one Subway franchise and built it into a successful business with five operations in the Atlanta area. Sam and Sharon returned to Jacksonville in 1996 where Sam started Sync, Inc. which currently employs over 95 people in its various operations. Sam is survived by his wife, Sharon Yunick; two sons, Michael and Patrick; and a daughter, Nicole.

      Man that's too bad. Hopefully he and dad are spending time at the big track in the sky.

          Interesting actually... the guy was 42 but intent on making it on his own...and good at it... looking into him for a few minutes led me to conclude he was as good at business as his father was at reading the rules... seriously... 95 employee's 17 Subway's... security, computer services, and other business's in his little company...

          hate we lost him... bummer he'd have made for some interesting conversation.
