  • Sleeping in your car(s)...

    Based on the "Time has come"-topic, I'm wondering how many of you have slept in your cars at a race-event or just a weekend carmeet for instance?
    I always want to sleep in my cars when at a meet or event... I just plain hate setting up a stupid tent and still have to sleep on the ground. ;)

    Here's me enjoying the fresh morning-air ;D from inside my race-car at the drags.

    Cars I've slept in sofar...
    '62 Chrysler NY-wagon;
    '64 Chrysler Newport limo;
    '65 Chrysler 300 convertible
    '67 Chrysler Newport
    '71 Dart SuperStreet

      I absolutely would rather sleep in my truck then a Motel room 9 out of 10 times.... give me a place to clean up... and I'm fine...

      Interesting deal... Pilot and a couple of other truck stops have started charging for showers... normally you can get a card and use accumlated points if your on the road a lot... or if you normally fill up at a particular truck stop...(See I think in Diesel terms here... )

      Point of all that... for 5-10 bucks a day you can be clean... and never have to get a Motel room on a trip... UNLESS you take Tonya... ... .

          flyin "J" all the way,
          really though, i prefer to sleep at the track. sometimes after waiting in the lines to get back in it's not worth leaving. especially national events. (like gainesville)

            How could I not sleep in a Mobil Motel like this? Couches don't get any better!
            Escaped on a technicality.

                Cripes, man! That thing is bigger than my living room!
                It's really no different than trying to glue them back on after she has her way.

                    Only time I sleep in the car is when the old lady kicks me out of the house. :-\

                      I used to have an old GMC truck, a little Hot Rodded. I use to drive until I got tired and then pull over and sleep in it. I loved that old truck
                      I haven't really done it since, but most of the times I go to the track I drive home the same night

                        I used the hood of my 71 Impala for comfort while watching the cars cruise West Dodge Rd, fell asleep on it more than a few times.

                          In '96,I drove from the Pacific ocean to Wendover straight thru.Found parking slot at the Stateline about 12:30 A.M.Went inside,had 3 drinks,went out and slept in my car.I was camping out at the bend in the road,so had no room or K.O.A. reservations.
