I do have a finger tip that's got a callous type blister from trying to push a bracket through the band saw the other night right after it came off the belt sander.... Total dumb ass... had to laugh at myself...

a friend of mine told me he was having brake probs so we went for a ride and when we finished he got out and the first thing he did was reach through the rim and touch the rotor---ouch!!!

The worst part of a burn isn't when you first do it, its the reminder that you get for hours.I've found that a cold can of Coke on the burn takes the pain goes away.Something about cold metal seems to transfer coolness better. And its a whole lot more manageable than ice.

The worst shop accident I ever had was while under a 1977 Oldsmobile Cutlass, pulling the TH350 out of it....

I was using an air ratchet to remove the bellhousing bolts and for some reason the air hose would not cooperate with me. I couldn't get enough slack in the hose to allow for access to one of the bolts, so I slid out from under the car on my creeper - just enough to see what the hose was snagged on - and gave the airline a little tug. Apparently, the hose had fallen behind a hydraulic ram from our engine hoist which was standing upright awaiting to be picked up for service. This was no ordinary ram. It was a 5-ton cylinder approximately 5" in diameter and stood about 28" off the floor. Well, the airhose tipped the ram over and wouldn't you know it, the cylinder came down on my forehead, right between the eyes.

When I woke up, my buddy, Dana, was peering down at me with a smirk on his face asking if I was ok. Other than a lump on my melon and a nasty headache, I was good to go. Ever since that episode the guys from The Rod Shop have always called me, "Crash."

I guess the point to be made here is, "never pull on an air hose (or extension cord) if it is wrapped around something that might fall over."

Never, under ANY circumstances, get carburetor cleaner in your eyes. Especially the stuff that comes in the 55 gallon drums from Zep.

So I'm over at my brothers helping him put a set of Tahoe seats in his 37 Plymouth (sorry guys but its got a bow-tie drive train). So he's under the car with a wrench, and I'm up top. Side note- me and my bro work together well, but it normally involves a little yelling and a couple thrown tools. So I'm up top holding the wrench on the track and he starts mumbling underneath. After I said "What?" the third time, I hang my head under the car and say "Can you say that in English?" He looks at me and says "I said, stop leaning on the car I can't breath!". Seems when I leaned in the frame was in perfect alignment to compress his sternum since we drove it up on ramps. Oopsie.
