I have a canon HV20 and I borrow a Audio technica when I need it because it has better sound quality and a tighter arc.

The HV20 is not slouch however and I got it because it has no exernal cables on a canon cam. The HV20 is also about a quarter of the price of the Audio technica.

My personal cameras are a DSR-500 and a PDX-10. I also have a REAL nice audio kit with Sennheiser Shotgun and boom, Sennheiser wireless and a Sound Devices 302 mixer.

I also have monitors, lighting, tripods, c-stands, etc., etc., etc.

I don't own any HD gear (yet) but I've had the pleasure of shooting many hundreds of hours on HDCAM's, VariCams, and a few of the HDV cameras. I've also gotten in a number of hours on the HVX-200 and HPX-3000 P-2 cameras.

I edit on an Avid Media Composer and Xpress Pro (on my PowerBook) but will likely switch over to FCP when HiDef becomes a necessity for my business.
