    • Nice Impala. In my fantasy it has a 409.

      • So I was out and about today and saw this beauty. The owner was maybe 70, said he had it for 45 years. Can anyone ID about what year this is? He also said it had been rolled a few times with a hearty laugh. He was heading out to Eastern Washington to do some wheelin.

          • The snorkel cutout in the passenger side of the hood and the 24 volt battery cover in the passenger cowl area point to it being a M38 built from '49 - '52

I wish I had my Dads Monte but I have the one he bought me so it's ok. Nice color combo.

              • My buddy the UPS driver saw this in a garage of one of his deliveries, but neither of us could identify the body style or the manufacturer. One thing of interest is the Flying A hood ornament. Does anyone recognize it or know who made it ?

                • I want to say Ford Prefect but the hood lines are wrong and the fender welting line is also wrong....

                      • Definitely not a Prefect

It's an AUSTIN, and it's been chopped. I believe '47-'52 A40, but I don't know the Austins well enough to tell if it's a Devon or a Dorset........

EDIT: Well, the answer is simpler than I thought.....

the Dorset is a 2 door sedan (Saloon on the other side of the pond)

the Devon is a 4 door sedan (Saloon on the other side of the pond)
