I turned 57 last week. Unit will be 59 in November. I don't want to keep harping on it , but it's a part of life. I love Ed's sig line, "Inside every old person there's a young person who wonders what the hell happened," or something like that.
Our window air conditioner in the bedroom crapped out. Worn out. The life of a mechanical thing. So I went and got another one. This was a few moths ago, in the heat of summer. I don't know air conditioners, got a big one, more better of course. Well. I couldn't get it into the window by myself. It's bigger than the other one. Upstairs, two floors down to the ground, will crush Junior the Riding Mower outside if I drop this thing.
Unit's SO much better now, but has never had any arm strength, nor have I.....this thing's BIG. You have to put the frame /container for it in the window, get that secured, then slide the guts into it.
Superman sent his 20-maybe year old kid over here. He and I together slid the air conditioner into place like a slice of bread. But it's gotta come back outta there come fall/winter. And then where to put it for the winter. Heavy as Fort Knox..
I'm all jacked about bout the Fall Colors Tour. Take the big sound board. I can't move that thing. It's glued to the floor/ground by gravity. It didn't used to be. I believe it got 5 times heavier over time. I do believe it did. And I've got to put that dang thing on the back to the truck to fulfill the big chunk of courage I've already bitten off.....That danged thing....it's glued to the floor. And it's upstairs. I'll do it, I'll get there with it. Right now I'm not sure how, but there's no way that thing's not going to the Gear Head Inn. It'll be there. We need it, whether we realize it or not. Sumbitch is glued to the floor by gravity. Dangest thing I've ever seen.
