  • We Have Our Limitations

I turned 57 last week. Unit will be 59 in November. I don't want to keep harping on it , but it's a part of life. I love Ed's sig line, "Inside every old person there's a young person who wonders what the hell happened," or something like that.

Our window air conditioner in the bedroom crapped out. Worn out. The life of a mechanical thing. So I went and got another one. This was a few moths ago, in the heat of summer. I don't know air conditioners, got a big one, more better of course. Well. I couldn't get it into the window by myself. It's bigger than the other one. Upstairs, two floors down to the ground, will crush Junior the Riding Mower outside if I drop this thing.

Unit's SO much better now, but has never had any arm strength, nor have I.....this thing's BIG. You have to put the frame /container for it in the window, get that secured, then slide the guts into it.

Superman sent his 20-maybe year old kid over here. He and I together slid the air conditioner into place like a slice of bread. But it's gotta come back outta there come fall/winter. And then where to put it for the winter. Heavy as Fort Knox..

I'm all jacked about bout the Fall Colors Tour. Take the big sound board. I can't move that thing. It's glued to the floor/ground by gravity. It didn't used to be. I believe it got 5 times heavier over time. I do believe it did. And I've got to put that dang thing on the back to the truck to fulfill the big chunk of courage I've already bitten off.....That danged thing....it's glued to the floor. And it's upstairs. I'll do it, I'll get there with it. Right now I'm not sure how, but there's no way that thing's not going to the Gear Head Inn. It'll be there. We need it, whether we realize it or not. Sumbitch is glued to the floor by gravity. Dangest thing I've ever seen.

frame in first.. my own is about 70 pounds.
I learned to use the dolly recently..had it for 14 years.

learning to have limitations .. part of limitations eventually.
my new place, the bathroom is all lit up. Never had one ..
a mirror and lighting, can even check my teeth closely.
Knowing why you may be called scary is another limitation.

I got veins popped even weight lifters would be shaking their head at.

you are quite right, we all have lmitiations. spectrum of humanity. When are we ever at one end completely.

That must be one Big Mutha mixer. My favorite was an old Peavey 12 channel like this: Click image for larger version

ID:	967986 For me it was a right time, right price deal, but everyone fell in love with it. Low tech musician guys liked it because it was HUGE. A high tech gear geek guy once told me "Ooooh nice find, genuine ALPS sliders". I of course just liked the big handle and the fact years later in tough times I sold it for more than the music store charged me. If it's time for a new toy that stuff has gotten better, smaller and cheaper by leaps and bounds due to computer tech runoff. Hot built in amps, tons of FX (echo and reverb), even automation and USB PC interaction. Take a gander at stuff from Mackie and Behringer, Yamaha if you want to impress.

Sounds like he needs a hot rod wagon.

Put the Mustang drivetrain in a Flex-box.

Okay, okay, put the Mustang drivetrain in the truck. Instead of taking two vehicles, have one that can haul ass & oats.

Yeah, and that too. I stopped having birthdays a few years ago.

As long as you know your limitations you should keep having them, IF you so desire.

A new 5.0 truck will have more HP than Red. I just looked - why can't you get 4.10's in a 5.0 short box as an option?

Dangnabit! Every time I try to use "quote" I get kicked from the site, and internet explorer recovers the tab. Darn. Anyhow, yes, pwee and I will be bringing Bubba the truck, loaded with noise making stuff. We will also let him take us cruising.
