This 'Cuda belongs to a friend named Johnny. Every Wednesday night, during street night. He pulls in the gates. Pay's his $15.00....drives up to the lanes. Does a short burn out. Rips out a mid 10 second pass. Then goes and parks in the pits to bench race. End of the night. Get's back in the car and makes the 20 mile drive home. 8)

Is that what you guys pay to race on the strip?
For how long? One race or all evening?

Down here, they charge us $55 to race, $10 for the "support car" to enter the pits and $25 each for any helpers/pit crew. It's a rip! (My local track, Calder Park Raceway.)
Just to show up with one friend and maybe get 3 or 4 runs down the track is $90. Not to mention, all other expenses on getting there and fueling the car. And you're completely un-insured if you happen to crash.
Then they wonder why guys are racing on the streets! And at least on the streets you have insurance!

Re: You just have to love American Muscle
Here in Ontario we have a track across the river on the darkside ("Quebec") that has cruise nights all summer long, 20 bucks per car load, sign the waiver, they write your number on the windsheild and that's it, unload in pits and line up as many times as you can, and then for the next two weeks laugh at all the honda kids who go out of their way to make sure nobody washes of the numbers on their car proving that they are "real racers" ...

Re: You just have to love American Muscle
I live out in the big empty, and we just use the Highway.
its over 200 miles (one way)to a track, and its alot easier to just go out on the road, look 10 miles in either direction, looking for any signs of traffic, then just line 'em up and go for it. Our biggest problem in Eastern Montana is the wildlife.
Plus, Most of the time, my county doesnt have a state trooper either.
