I'M A TRACK RECORD HOLDER!!!! (And so is everyone else who was in a class and made it down the track as the record book was empty.) Mutt ran a best of 126.6xxx as I was dialing in the new turbo but given the WORST weather I only got two passes so I'm sure there's more left in him. Good meet considering the wind, rain, etc.

Prolly whatever color I bring with me! Ol' Mutt will never go any speed with a hat attached as long as he's running that Mercedes engine. Ford is making a 3.0l modern Diesel but that will probably never be in my price range. Love to see whatever of you guys as can make it.
Steve - I'll be working Impound again at Bonneville so look me up. It's always fun to do dinner at one of the casinos and swap lies.

A negative for me. I just got to Montana last night with the second load. I might try for one of the other events this summer. Russel you and I should coordinate which meet to make it to. Any body heard from other Dan about plans to make it from Indy?
I am planing on Bonneville this year.
Good luck with Mutt......What color hat are you gunning for?

Ah, them was the good ol' days! And don't forget the doglegs in the track!
That additional tow will take a toll. I'm tuning up the trailer (new suspension bits and brakes) and just had Truck aligned so the tow out will be as easy as possible. But I will stop in Atlanta on the way out on I-74, I-20, I-22 to see Marsi (she's unofficially officially our 5th. kid) and I'll get to see dear friends in Sparta, TN on the way home on I-40 so there IS some good from towing past the Mississippi.

Yeah we need to get together sometime. I would like to go, hope to make it once this year. But now that it 4 days on the road it makes it harder. Ohio was ruff but i am really not looking foward to the tow. I miss Maxton it was 4 hours.

Channeling your inner Dave Marcis on the shoes?
We plan on spectating on Sunday only due to work commitments. Probably get bitten by the bug and make plans for the future.
Thanks for the info on the shoes. My stuff isn't fast enough the drag race world to require a roll bar or suit/clothes, etc.but see this LSR stuff requires it no matter what.

Is Everyone Ready For The First Blytheville Meet?
It's coming up SOON! So is everyone set to go?
I still have to change Mutt's oil (probably tomorrow) and make sure all the nuts and bolts are tight but otherwise ready as far as the race truck goes. I have the new brakes on the trailer but they need checking and fixing if needed - hopefully that will be tomorrow, too. When I sign off here I need to order up a pair of race gloves (I have the suit and shoes). I hear that wing tips are the way to go for race shoes (let's see who gets THAT reference!).
I have a room in Blytheville and stops scheduled at our daughter's in ATL on the way out and with our friends on the way home so a couple of motel rooms are needed there. So I'm pretty near set.
How about y'all? Race cars and tow vehicles ready? Happy trailers and trailer tires? Looking forward to seeing everyone there.
Dan
EDIT: A bit of follow-up. The G Force gloves are available on Amazon Prime (and headed my way) and there's plenty of time to get them before the meet. Mine are on the way. Also - G Force shoes run considerably undersize. I dug mine out of the race suit duffel bag and tried them on for the first time. They're marked US 10 1/2 and they fit me almost perfectly. I wear a US 8 1/2 in daily walkin' around shoes so these suckers are WAY smaller than marked - just a heads-up. DanLast edited by DanStokes; March 27, 2018, 11:57 AM.Tags: None
