El Mirage Next weekend: Anyone going?

I was wondering if anyone is heading out to ElMirage on Sunday (12th). My shop is about 15 miles up the hill from the races...

The weather has been unseasonably cool so far this month...But a cold one always does the job. Hope its dry!

ElMirage is a blast! I wasnt sure what I was seeing or hearing in a lot of cases, and Ive got a boatload to learn about classes and going fast on the dirt, but Im hooked! Im still going through the pics (I guess i should get to work instead?) but I attached a few of the first ones. The vintage equipt was outstanding!

what kinda car count is there on average ? are there certain times of the year that more cars show up ?

im interested on flying out for a weekend event to check it out, ive always wanted to go

Dynoroom could probably get you an exact count, but it looked like over 65 race cars/bikes at the meet + a lot of other rides. Its only one weekend a month when the lake is dry I think, next one is July 11?

whats the closet airport to fly into ? ontario ?

Boooghar, yes Ontario is the best airport for going to El Mirage, about 1 hour away. There is also Palmdale but not mant flights in & out of there.
We run at the lake bed 6 times a year, May, June, July, Sept., Oct., Nov. Bonneville is in Aug. so no lakes meet that month. Also the car counts do fluctuate, as the May & Nov meets are 2 day meets all others being Sunday only races. The 2 day meets will see as many as 175-200 entrys. It normally works out to be about 2/3 cars & 1/3 bikes with 50-75 cars at a single day meet.

If yer flying yer own plane, I think you can land at El Mirage, or Fox Field in Lancaster.

the FAA put me on a NO FLY list with paper airplanes, so a big one is out of the question LOL
