Got the drums, street tires, mufflers, back on and topped off the transmission. Took it for a ride, still has some gear wine. Maybe it's not as loud as before. I am going to put the carpet and rear set back in. Hopefully it will muffle it some.

Itching to go to the track!

Got the driveshaft back in yesterday. The yoke Stiney sent me proved the splines where twised and it needed a new yoke. The bad part is it didn't fit to the driveshaft, it was smaller, guessing 4cyl? Didn't know they used a smaller size u-joint. Got my hands on another driveshaft. Got the yoke off. Put the joke back on the driveshaft. Then I noticed the "new" yoke sitting on the bench. I put the twisted one back on....
Time to start over. I got a lot of pratice. The smartest thing I did all day was pull the 20 ton jack off the press and replaced it with an old 6 ton. It doesn't take 8 years to go an inch.

Took 3 times to get the back lash where I wanted it. Frist time I put it back like it came out. 3-4. My digital caliper battery was dead so I switched them right to left. Then it reading 13-14. Looking for 8... So l went to the store spent $5 on a battery. Did the math figured out how much to shift side to side and got 7-9 win! Got the axles in cover on filled with gear oil and drum brakes assembled.

Need to replace yoke on driveshaft install and put the drums and tires back on! Getting closer.

    I hope it doesn't wine....

Pulled the pinion back out and replaced the crush sleeve. I was trying very hard not to over tighten it. The spec is 16-28 inlbs. I checked it was about 10. I tighten it just a little more and it went all the waY to 30! It doesn't spin as freely as I think it should bUT I think I am going to call it close enough.

Stiney's package came from Ohio today! Thank You! Now just to find time to finish the rear and swap the driveshaft yokes / u-joints. This week doesn't look good but I should have some free time next week.
