Outing... sounds like a Closet sorta thing... ya know...

    Any last words of advice?

    Here's the basic combination...

Yellow car... $800 dollars worth of a 412ci small block, 350 Turbo, T/A Radials... no suspension fixes...

Point here being... we gotta start somewhere and we'd love to have all the tires and gears in the car... but Honestly... I really don't think this first outing is about that at all... for us it's all about ... " what's up with this program"... and How do we go drag racing without being in Drag???

Lots of this is about getting the car into the new trailer... sorting out the lic. plates... setting up gear... that sorta thing...

    Keith,

Sounds like a plan. Keep it in one piece, don't leak anything on the track and enjoy the race!

Turk, you just have to remember the course is 1/4 mile long. Not one mile, three miles, or five miles.

When you see the win like (in the other guy's lane...HA) LIFT!!!!

Ive seen to many people forget them and have to root through the trash for a bottle to use.

Keep it planted, no matter what. That's the best kind of instructions a boyfriend can give.

If the Disco still has the battery in the front you need to put a strap over it per NHRA. Plumbers tape is accepted!

i had a battery in front one time......without front fender wells.
it came out and somehow got speared by the traction bar. i ended up backing into the guardrail.
all i heard was a thud and felt a thump in the steering wheel as it skipped around the front tire. then the fun began.

how about a driveshaft loop and safety belts?

puke tank is a must for the coolant system

also make sure you don't have too much rubber hose for fuel line - some tech guys don't like to see much rubber at all.

Don't get too crazy lowering the rear tire pressure, keep it reasonable - when I dropped mine a bit too far on the drag radials man did it feel WEIRD!!!
There's always something new to learn.

Keith, with you being a event/safety guru, common sense should be a simple guide.

if it looks/act/feels unsafe, it likely IS.

Don't have high expectations the first time out......keep it simple, keep it FUN!
