I put some pancake bumpstops in the bolt-in notch on my Ranger, that eliminated any harshness if I catch a bump.Chris - HRPT Long Haul 03, 04, 05, 13, 14, 15,16 & 18

Fuel tank removal. Anyone need a good 20 gallon tank?

Fuel filler was modified for regular gas at some point so I ordered a new one from LMC. I also ordered new filler and vent hoses as well as install strips for under the straps. Needed a new filler hose because the new tank has a different size filler opening. Hopefully it all fits together correctly.

New tank, sending unit and fuel pump. The tank and sender are 1987 spec units (tank and sender are correct for fuel injection) and are pretty cheap (got mine from Rock Auto). The pump is a Walbro 255 in tank unit that will fit in the factory 1987 sender assembly. I scored all 3 bits for about $220 a couple of years ago.

I've been trying to figure out how I want to run the fuel and return lines as I need to have that figured out before I mount the new tank. One school of though is AN fittings and braided fuel line which would be fairly easy. I also need to add a fuel filter (probably a factory style). I'm leaning towards reworking the lines and filter off of the donor:

With that plan, I still need some flexible lines at the gas tank (maybe compression fittings to AN with short braided lines). I also need to address the evap line. This is available if I want to delete it:
This is our LS Truck intake manifold EVAP block off kit, or use with all LS truck intake manifolds that originally came with an EVAP system. • CNC milled right here in the USA from aircraft grade Billet aluminum. • Comes with O ring and bolt as seen in pictures. • We also offer EGR block off plates. • Intended for off road use only, check with your local and state laws before deleting emissions equipment. LSX Innovations INC Is not liable for any misuse of this product. There is limited stock on these and when out we will not offer them again.

Bare motor and deconstruct:
Looks ok from here
Kind of scrungy as we get closer. The rusty stuff wipes off so not too concerning.

Project creep enters here. Original plan was a cam swap with oil pump and timing set replacement. This is from the rear of the passenger head:

After digesting that info for a short while, I decided it was prudent to blow it all apart and make sure everything is right. Knock sensor carnage. This is from water getting into the area under the intake. I will need a new harness and at least 1 new sensor.
What it is supposed to look like:
