The pressure side is hooked up using the original 79 hose and I just need a piece of rubber return line to finish that up. Here it is with the belt on it:

Fan install - The fans are from a 97 Camaro and the shroud is from Tejas Steelworks.

I've been working on the truck quite a bit lately. Most of it has been wiring. I finished up the fuse/relay block and installed the harness and computer in the truck.

Spent a bunch of time after that wiring up the factory dash gauges, fuel pump, shortening 02 and MAF wires. Connected the steam vent to the radiator. Installed the intake tube and filter. This was actually an inexpensive kit ($60) that was made for the 2003ish trucks.

Wired up the fans using the relay block and wiring from a 2005ish truck (mine came with a mechanical fan). It's all connected to the computer and just needs to be programmed. I scored an EFI Live cable and software from a buddy and disabled the VATS in the computer and the engine fired right up! Tech Tip: search for G1201 in EFI Live and set the value to none.Chris - HRPT Long Haul 03, 04, 05, 13, 14, 15,16 & 18

Next up was the gas pedal. It's drive by wire so I was planning on using the 2003 pedal. It turns out that the one I had was one of the adjustable type (for short people) and would need to be hacked up pretty badly to work. A little google fu and it turns out that the pedal from a mid 90's truck works like a charm and bolts right in needing only a swap of the A and E wires on the connector. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WX1XNADiWRg

Once that was done I installed the shocks and piled a couple of chair cushions on the floor and took it for a spin around the block. The throttle is super touchy but apparently can be adjusted with programming. It is also very loud as the exhaust ends at the header collectors. I have an appointment next Monday to rectify that. Here it is off the lift (under its own power):
I'm pretty sure the Camaro has more ground clearance.

Dropped it off last week Monday for the dual exhaust install. 2 1/2" pipes all the way back:

It's fully welded but I had them add flanges right before the axle in case I need to remove bits of it later for service. Here it is on the ground at home:

The drive home was considerably less loud but I did bottom out on a couple of bumps on the way. The shop also could not align the front end due to the insufficient fender clearance. The passenger side was particularly bad. The tire was actually bending the trim and fender lip out when turning. A few observations:- The body appears to be shifted slightly to the passenger side (I might pick up 1/2 inch on the passenger side if I can move everything - anything gained here will of course be lost on the other side)
- A-Arms are 2 - 2 1/2 inches off the pavement (oddly enough, my floor jack fits under the crossmember)
- Tires tend to contact the fender lip and inner fender when turning or under compression
- The rear is about 2 inches higher than the front (measured at the fender lip)
I started to tip the flange in with an adjustable wrench. From there I taped a thick piece of plywood to the outer fender and eased the flange in with a pair of channel locks:
I had drilled 2 new mounting holes for the trim just outside of the planned crimp area before I removed it. Next, I trimmed the wheel opening trim:

The trim adjustment worked OK but left the center area pretty weak. On the other side I left more material and folded it over to give it some decent structure. I took it around the block and the adjustment seemed to work pretty well. Yesterday, I drove it to work (70 miles round trip). It worked well, but I did manage to bottom out on a stretch of pretty smooth freeway. I have come to the conclusion that it is just a bit too low as I want to drive it a lot and not worry about every tiny bump. I ordered some new springs that should get me 1 - 1 1/2 inches. I hope to get them installed this weekend. The truck at work:
