  • squirrel's 1928 Chevy

This was originally a coupe, but the body disappeared some time over the past several decades. Sitting on a ranch not far from me, luck got me to be the first one to see it, and I got it for hauling it off the property. I've been playing around with the mechanisms, got the wheels to turn, explored the engine a little, etc. It might be possible to get it running without spending a lot of dough on it...and then it maybe could become a speedster or something fun.

I know, but I have several hot rods already. I can leave some things alone, and enjoy the slow ride.

Yup, but I would want it street legal, so I could drive it occasionally. Something like this seems doable

I like this a LOT! I know it'll be wonderful whatever you do with it. I wish I could come up with decent raw material like that - I think I live in the wrong place.

update to a hopped up inline six with old timey brass and copper bits, mix in a t-5 for better shifting manners, and dress her out like a chevrolet version of the Stutz Bearcats!

heh...it's neat to read what other guys would do with this car. Not quite what I have in mind, though.

I like your plans for this old chevy. Be nice to see something a little bit different. Also be it would be pretty neat if you could get a 88 year old engine running without
                        a total rebuild.

I vote it needs a Pontiac OHC

Of course curious to see where it actually goes. A small tinkering project can be fun.
                          Escaped on a technicality.

                            that is incredible.
                            maybe find one of these:

In 1930, a four-cylinder 151 cu in (2.47 l) Miller engine installed in a race car set a new international land speed record of 144.895 mph (233.186 km/h). Miller developed this engine into a twin overhead cam, four-cylinder, four-valve-per-cylinder 220 cu in (3.6 l) racing engine. This would be used in midgets and sprints into the 1960s,[2]
I wonder what hounder cheevic lovers and mr.beachy would think of that.
