Students got the fenders removed and Parke Bishop Built radiator support on and lined up perfect. We had 9 students stay after school to work on and another senior female student take a few of my auto students under her wing and show them the ropes with stripping the fender and decklid. Thanks to ridetech and bangshift the article that was wrote and published on thier pages made it to out local news facebook with lots of positive about our program and school. I spent some time today showing and reading all the comments from face book and our build sites to the students. Thank you for all the positive feedback and we will continue give constant updates on the build. Drove over 5 hours to Maine this weekend to trade the sbc 350 for a aritic cat 400 fourwheeler. i was showing the kids how to use craigslist and now listing the quad to try to come up with funds for the t56. Trying to teach them to hustle to make a dollar and reinvest to make $2. I think one great thing about this build is next time they look at a restored car or race car i am hoping they will have a new respect for craftsmanship and the time it takes to do the job right.

we where supposed to get a 6.0 but last minute it fell through so we got a 5.3 that has a hole in the oil pan. We are going to use it as a mock up and it is good for these guys to pull apart a modern ls engine. These two guys are from the diesel program and this is good for them to exspand their knowledge.

The top picture are freshman students who are still exsploring shops in our school and stayied after to join the club. These kids loves cars. The picture below is pedro and marcus and they have been here since day one. They are cleaning up under the car. They got most of it stripped down to bare metal.

You can see some of the before and afters shots. I just want to say how impress i am with these students. They are like clock work after school and never late. These young men and women range from the ages of 14- 18. I have had some of the older students mentor the younger kids which really makes a kids day. We have a few students that not that great on the hands on but found a talent behind the camera lens and their job is taking pictures and b-roll for the media department when they are not there

My friend Gave me a 5.3 that was sitting outside with no intake on. The students pulled it apart to find it was not a complete loss. The piston rings where stuck but the crank rods and pistons where all good. It did have a harness but it is missing the injector plugs and half the coils and injectors. The cam bearings are wiped and cam didn't look to hot. The intake valves where corroded pretty bad but will still do a valve job and reassemble the motor with students for good practice. I found a ly6 6.0 with real high mileage but for $1200. Guy said he will hold it for the week so we can try to sell some stuff on craigslist. I want to put a manual behind it and keep the car fuel injected. I want to know what you guys think on best management system for it. Cost is the biggest factor. The motor comes with a ecu and pedal and i can do the harness with my students. Reprogram the vats out and hp tuners?? maybe another company? What is the best way to go with fuel system? Have a good stock tank i can sump. I have the greatest facility but we lack funds. Looking at modifying a stock oil pan and looking into some leads for engine mounts and headers.
Thank you for all the comments, i do jump on this and read them to the kids to show them this site. We spent a hour after school the other day just reading everyone else build to try to answer some of our questions we had.
