To me, the whole point of these type of trips is to unplug and tune out for a while. Otherwise, it is like taking a vacation and spending the whole time looking at your laptop answering emails and working. What's the point?

since you don't have children - let me explain why you want to plug in and tune out.... children.

I think the pickup MUCH better looking as well, but the Lincoln is cool to go with the era of the trailer...to each his own....

Hmmm....been a couple years since posting about this fun little trailer. Since fall 17, we've taken it on a few more camping trips, including two Zip Tie Drags (Tucson), as well as a trip to Yellowstone. Just got back from a few days in Catalina State Park, which is only 100 miles from home--went with four other local couples, and just camped out, hiked, goofed, off, and had fun.

pic at the Zip Tie Drags earlier this year. We've been towing it with a 2006 Tahoe I bought about a year ago. It works pretty well, the truck has to downshift to 2nd on steep hills, but the 5.3 pulls ok, and it's comfy and roomy enough.

The Tahoe....gets 19 when not towing, but only 14 towing the car trailer, and 11-13 towing the Airstream (hills are not good for it).

The Denali (engine donor for the Buick) struggled to get 14 highway with the 6.0 - though I never towed with it so I couldn't give that comparison.

what happened to the airstream camper?

The Avion camper is sitting in my yard, patiently waiting for me to work on it again (or someone to buy it, although it's not advertised for sale). The Airstream trailer, is the only RV type thing I've every finished....out of several false starts.
