      • so I took pictures earlier.... for whatever reason they didn't get on the memory card... so these are round 2. The first set had Buick in my Buick wagon snoozing.
I dunno, maybe either use it as a template or cut it down so it clears the air cleaner

it turned out a lot better then I expected

hard to see but the front flare is now nearly close enough

        other side for comparison

        • so I may outsource the actual coloring of this car - which means I need to get the major done now....
it's good enough for white.... not black, yet

this gives a good perspective of the front fenders

          much sanding later

          time to cut a hole

          no going back now

          and voila

              • bent to hood contour

I seriously hope this is the last time to fit the doors before paint

                sexy

finally the front flare is showing the right shape

                • Lots of pictures, but the point is it's pretty much all sanding today

all of these are low spots

                  and chips

                  and fill

so twice this amount of liquid and you get peanut butter

you have no idea how tempted I am to paint this white

so while the filler is drying... onto the Buick

                  • so I used the wrong squirt nozzle for the epoxy, so I got to remove what wasn't drying and replace it
                    oops

then tonight I got to use all-of-my-epoxy-knowledge and help another person.... I know what the blind leading the blind looks like.... his turned out better then mine - but I think he had more YouTube videos under his belt ;)

and for the record, he would have made the same mistake I did. West Systems comes with 3 dispense pumps. 2 are for the hardener, one is for resin.... but one of the hardener tops is the same size as the resin (they all come with varying lengths of pickup tubes).... tonight as I was mixing the new batch I noticed printing which illuminated my error. It's a really easy error to make so don't be me

                    • no no the cough is bondo and fiberglass

sheesh, people are humorless these days

                      three spots left

                      one down

then it will be time to high-build and sand

                      • I see no reason for the hate of white - maybe plain old refrigerator white, but there are some really neat white paint jobs out there that have pearl / silver metallic over the top that look really really cool. Given my lack of body work patience - if I re-color a car, it will likely end up in a permanent state of primer.

                        • Call when ready and I'll help you shoot it in color. We get to MI every summer so we can make this happen. It really isn't all that hard - if I can do it ANYONE can do it!

that would be a kick, I think the Corvette is headed to the guy who painted my 83 GMC pickup.... this no booth thing is a problem. What's funny, he's done every black paint - he did the pieces from my H3, he did the Jetta, and he did the pickup - all were black....
that said, I am thinking the Buick is going to get the garage paint

Primered, again. Out of high build primer.. oops.
