they do...especially with both motor mounts solid and a
      rubber/poly/soft trans tailshaft mount.............

but i would only run ONE side solid,on the drivers.
the passenger mount and the trans mount would remain
"normal" soft ones, in the hope that them being able
to move should keep the bellhousing blues at bay,
while the solid left one would keep the motor from lifting
up so far on hard acceleration...

a last ditch max effort temporary fix, no? at least thats my theory........

See, I have this terrible affliction, I both listen and remember what people say to me.

                    • hey, at least im honest! hah hah...........

the 'temporary' button started out as temporary--
after pulling the starter harness, testing EVERY
wire in it for continuity (they all passed) and reinstalling
it (what a PAIN...) and still having a no crank issue
despite having replaced both the rack and the ignition/
neutral safety switches, temporary became permanent.

                      • so I have new spindles and plan b is this

I'll mill the tabs into spindle and basically take the same amount off both the spindle and the caliper. I figure the reduced metal thickness will be offset by the tabs being against the spindle/hub..

                        • No, I haven't forgotten this. My friend with the mill is on vacation until early next year, so the front brake/spindle mods get to wait, also I have a stack of postponed projects that really need movement (e.g. Colorado air compressor, rack, lights, sliders; Suburban stuff). Also, the next step after the brakes is pull the body off. That, of course, fills my shop and lift - so the other projects plus my wife's craptastic Jeep JK Rubicon (which is leaking coolant, again) means I need to put this on a 2 month or so hold... leaving the body on the frame makes it far easier to move.
