    fixing more stuff
    the driver's seat

since the back seats aren't being used, I'll steal foam from one of them

    close

I think I found my offset seat problem

and a wrapper.... I suspect I know what caused the original problem with the foam

    uh, yeah

    repaired

might as well put the seat heaters in

I've never wanted kids, so that's not really a downside

finishing up... heated seats are going in sheepskin covers - the backs are glued to the foam and it won't come apart without great risk of destroying the foam.. no biggie, just a bit different

between the frame fix, a bent fix, and the foam the seat is MUCH better.. now just for heat

now that the major mechanical repairs are done or properly ignored, time to make this ready for the NWOR
I need space for the water tank, and other mechanical systems... the best way is build a floor

batteries moved forward, the rest of the seats were removed and the water tank installed along with the diesel heater

Just for giggles I'd like to know what this whale weighs when finished . I hauled a steel garage door off the the scrap yard and on my way out the truck weighed 6130 on the way out .Me and the toolbox probably weigh 240 . The flatbed that hauled me home the other day had scales in the bed that put my truck at 6000 by itself . The scrapper scales were probably closer to the truth .

by golly, I think I'm going to make it....
                    wiring

put a bull nose on the step and the platform is done (enough)....

                    even washed it

need to run the fuel line for the heater and the exhaust... but seriously that's not a lot of work (plug and play)... then put carpet done.
future plans is make all those cubbies accessible and enclose the side cubby... but for now, water, heat and vent is done.... just in time, I leave on Thursday.

so this never gets updated because the truck simply works without drama. Until now, suddenly I started getting a leak on the passenger side... finally pulled the rack apart today - and sure enough, rust means it's leaking - and it's fixed, with roofing patch.... the best part about the fix is someone, sometime will rebuild this truck and say WTF.... then they'll say what I said F it
