For me to do to the car? hmmm....I tried to start it a week or two ago, no fuel pump noise. Today I looked at it, the wire fell off, so I plugged it back in, and it fired up. But the engine dies after running a short time, and it is hard to keep running when cold. I had the choke wired open. I think the new plan is to leave the choke disconnected, it closes by itself, then wire it open before making a pass (after warming up the car). I think it'll be ok.

Other than that, I need to add another brace to the huge velocity stack, and it should be good to go. I don't expect to win. I hope I get to race, though.

Huge velocity stack: It would be interesting to know if it helps or hurts. My brain is envisioning air rushing over it creating a low pressure area inside. Might be something that works great on a stationary engine dyno but no so great moving throught the air at 70+ mph.

yeah, it's mostly for fun. But it's big enough that I can put a tall 14" air cleaner on top of it, to diffuse the air.

put the line lock on. First time I've played with bubble flares, and a diagonal braking system. Yes, it only has one front brake applied when I push the button. And I only have dirt to test it on.

I stole the choke thermostat off my truck, so it can stay running, so I can test the brakes, etc.

getting close, I have to have the car at Tucson Dragway Friday morning early.

The car would would have worked ok if it were something that I wanted to work ok...which means, I would have put a lot more time and effort into it. But I built it as a hooptie, and it worked like a hooptie, as I expected. It was pure Roadkill.

Second place in class isn't too shabby, I think. And the truck that beat me would easily sell for far more than $3k
