    • well, its more the 'put your entire life on hold and shirk all your personal responsibilities' part that sucks--
remember, i got a son with leukemia. while im away playing cat & rat babysitter/gardner/mechanic ( for
zero compensation and zero thanks, i might add ) my wife has to deal with all the things-medicine, doctors
appointments, food, etc.. that i normally take care of.

and the BIGGEST pisser is that i have a younger brother who my mother treats like a fricken dali lama while he
does absolutely nothing to help her. its one of those "i can do no right while he can do no wrong" deals.

he wont lift a finger to help, doesnt even call her unless he wants something, withholds her seeing his 3 yr old
as leverage to get what he wants, etc... and yet he's the king and always has been/always will be. case in point-
hes been telling her he needs a house, so she sold some property and gave him $165K as a down payment.
hes since blown $60K on dumb shit (like a $30K 56 chevy belair) so no longer has enough.

      solution?
mom wants to sell the building our family has owned since 66 ( and grandma designed and built) that has
brought in 5.5 million+ in rent for our family since it was built, so he can have more $ to go buy a house.
f@rk the rest of the family, who cares as long as the king gets what he wants....

meanwhile i have to put my entire life on hold and be the "house n*gger" for zero thanks, i get nothing
but complaints, scolding, and belittlement. go figure. and it seems like its VERY common for this scenario
to happen, the 'good kids' that are responsible and help get treated like sh*t, while the 'bad kids' (family f@rk-ups)
get treated like gold. wonder why this is.

oh well, enough bitchin, gots to go start mowing the lawn........29 days of indentured servitude left and counting !

        • I remain with my assessment that you could be doing it in Wisconsin.... I used to date a girl, and my life was struggling at the time, but every time I talked to her I felt better.... because her daughter (3 yo) had leukemia - yeah, things were tough, but by comparison it was lollipops and unicorns.

          • you are right of course--no matter how bad i think i got it
there are many others out there who have it worse!
at least my sons leukemia is under control, for all intents
and purposes he seems 'normal healthy'.

and i do have all 10 fingers and toes. im not in a wheelchair.
i dont live in chicongo, or some 3rd world hellhole like uganda.
and at 300lbs+ i obviously get enough to eat on a regular basis.
i got hotrods and harleys and dirtbikes etc.

plus i dont need rogain OR viagra............................................ .......

            • well, im bumming over here in maui--but at least i can still scour
crepelist and fleabay for more parts for the build, nyuck nyuck...

trying to stockpile maybe 80% of what we need BEFORE ripping
stuff apart, i hate project creep and have found that the more
stuff i have on hand when i start the better off i am in the long run.

yes, sometimes i shoot myself in the foot that way too, but
"usually" i can sell off whatever isnt needed or isnt working
and get something else. beats having your project sit for weeks
or even months/years whilst you try to locate whatever particular
              thing is hanging you up!

anyway, im still looking for things like a 454 flywheel, clutch,
gauges, zillions of nuts & bolts, etc
and will need to have a driveshaft made but thats quite a ways
              down the road yet.

so far the list of goodies piled in the living room is--
              454 with steel crank & 10.5 forged pistons, 7/16 rods.(need to punch .060 and turn crank )
muncie M20 wide ratio from '67 427 vette, so has the bigger 1" shaft. hope its tough enough!
              giant 49" ladders with crossmember
              cosworth vega column
              flipped corvair box
              15x4 ansens, 205/70 for front
15x8.5 torque thrusts, 275/60 for rear
              BBC fenderwell exit headers
              hurst shifter for bench seat
speedway straight axle kit complete with discs, spindles, etc.
              4spd pedal set from a 55 plaza
universal weld in sbc/bbc motormount crossmember kit
portuguese pseudo tunnelram from manifold to air cleaners
              front/rear windscreen gaskets
side & 1/4 window gaskets, cowl vent gasket
              factory radio delete plate

plus either a 69 camaro 12 bolt with 3.73 posi or a shortened dana 60.
waiting to see which one shows up 1st...

so i am well on my way, and still perusing fleabay almost like rainman.
              good times!

              • so, other than being an intoxicated patron ejection engineer
for 24 years, i also used to run a tow truck company called
                "chippenwhales"--
think the male strip revue chippendales, only FATTER.....

i just found these stickers on fleabay for the 1/4 windows.
i love that its a fat guy in a trucker hat on the pole.
and my 'stage name'-- solly wood-- is going under it
with a tag that says 'tip me, B*TCH'....
