ID:	1272229Well it's seemed like an eternity to get to this point. Couldn't hook up the sway bar They only sent one lock nut and no frame bolts. Now it goes to the rack to install engine and replace some rear bushings.

Well it's been a tough 2020, we've had a few health issues that kept me out of the shop. Hopefully we've gotten a handle on it now. Ok the pala is finally on all fours, engine is ready to go in except for the oil pan, had to order one that fits 60's B bodies. Painter is waiting and interior man is lined up. Hopefully things will start moving along now. Check out my next project, I'm a gluten for punishment.

Progress and setbacks. Got the 454 in the Pala yesterday, first, valve covers to tall for booster, common BBC problem but I've have some good stock ones. Trans is a 700R4 that came with the car, hope it's good. Bought some Calyx manifold dressing for the exhaust manifold's, everyone says it's good we'll see. Now the bad problem, front coil springs. Put them in a few months ago with the rest of the suspension, first thing I noticed was that the suspension was max out up, solid!! I said well when I drop that 800 lbs of BBC and transmission it'll drop. WRONG!! Even with my big 250 lb butt bouncing on the core support it wouldn't budge. called summit and explained in depth the issue with the ( Moog springs ). They double check me of course and said well that is the right listing so I'm stuck. Called Moog's tech line, yes right part number but he would recommend one with less load, but still doesn't know why it's maxed out. Called Summit back told them what Moog had said and recommended, their going to warranty them and send me the ones they recommended. Click image for larger version

Today I ordered a Sean Murphy Induction custom built Quadrajet for the Pala. Now I some of you might have just went, whaaaat. Well the Pala is being built to be fun and for those old enough will remember the days when we flipped the air cleaner just to hear that beautiful Quad sound when you punched it, well that's what I want. He builds carbs for car's in super stock classes that require factory style carbs. Holley's also.

Well, you could have done what Ford did with the mustang and just have that sound go through the stereo speakers

ID:	1285435Wow I can post again!! Got the new rear suspension installed. Now on to finishing the rear brakes and install new brake lines. Not very pretty under there but I'll spray some pretty under there. Click image for larger version Name:	IMG_20201228_183751.jpg Views:	0 Size:	600.7 KB ID:	1285433

I tried putting the stock shift linkage back on the 200R4 but there isn't anyway it'll fit, I don't know how the goobers had it on there, maybe that's why it didn't shift right. I ordered a Lokar universal column shift linkage kit and made my own and it actually works!! Got new tires, will have to repaint the Rallye wheels on it and the front end should settle down a little lower with the rest of the engine accessories, hood, and grill/bumper.

I'll have to look into that when it comes time to connect the 4L80e in my Skylark

They do have it but it's in a kit by itself, it mentions that the kit I used fits just about everything except 4L80E.
