Well, it has been going very well. I have pretty much completed the rolling chassis.

Had a bit of a set back with the Fairlane suspension project but hopefully will get the rolling chassis done by the end of next week and get on to fixing sheet metal.

I can't believe I missed this until today! Looks like a great project, but you set your own bar plenty high with the wagon.

                      • Well - as is typical - things got in the way of much progress the last couple months.
                        Here is some minor updates

Caliper bracket finished (re-enforced mount area and painted)

Rolling chassis finished (well very close anyway - still some plumbing to do)

More patches - rear cab mounts where rusted through very badly.

                        Still to do
                        - attach the roof. Starting to lean towards gluing the rear seam and welding the A pillars
                        - soda blast the entire cab. I have a friend that has a soda blaster he said I could borrow. I don't trust the sandblast place to do the sheet metal with out warping stuff.
                        - fix all the stuff that is uncovered once the cab is fully stripped

Thank you for the heads up. I need all the help I can get with this sheet metal / body prep stuff.

Thanks Ed. I still have a lot of skill to gain on my welding but I bought the big roll of .023 wire and a whole stack of grinding wheels

                              • Ha! That's funny, because one of the lads on the slick60s forum has a signature line:

"I'm still not a good welder but I've become a good grinder"
                                lol
