  • I guess I should do a bit of an update.

The car is not dead yet, just been put on the back burner to deal with some house projects that required the dry warmth of summer.

I grabbed a convertor for the car, decided on a fuel system, got the Holly in and ready for the sensors to be plugged in.

The motor will be coming out potentially next weekend to get it and the trans mated and everything locked into place. Once that is done, I'll start melting metal together for the turbo kit. Once the turbo kit is made, it would just need a shifter, driveshaft, fuel pump and lines.

This weekend however, will be a race day and bringing home the next project/old car of mine.

      • So, it is no secret that things have been slow for the car. Race season puts progress on the back burner. I do lawn care on the side, help with a race program (we have 3 cars in the camp not counting the Lincoln, a 79 Mustang Pace Car known as, Da Pace Car(yes a real Pace Car), a 3rd gen Camaro known as 28 Savage and a notch back Mustang known as Black Mamba). The Carters, who own the Pace Car and the Camaro have been a huge help with the Lincoln, parts from the Pace Car and Camaro are on/in route to the Lincoln.

I seem to have built up a a back log of work, even though I don't do work for others past being at the track. With that, I needed to upgrade from the Harbor Freight bench, the cheap welding table and a welder on a set of wheels. I gave the bench to a friend and started building a new bench/welding area in the garage. Strangely, this seems to be freeing up room in the garage to wrap the Lincoln up. I still need to make the shelf under the bench and extend the welding area but, I can see the end product.

            • Ok, a bit of an update? Still not up today picture wise though.

I got the fuel pump and alternator mounted and the pulleys figured out. The main alternator bolt is some how...bent. So, I need to find a replacement that is long enough to also allow for a turnbuckle to be attached as well.

Apparently, spark plugs were buy 1 get 7 free.

The first box of lines and fittings came in and though not pictured, bigger fuel rails came in as well. I still need to order the feed line and those fittings.

Then finally, the rear end finally got fluid put in it and installed back into the car.

Once the last big of the fuel system stuff shows up, I will go back to the garage and do work. I also decided to try out the whole, YouTube thing and I made my first video that isn't just randomness. Maybe some Lincoln and Probe videos will be done as well.

              • Ok, video update like thing... Let me know if you would like to see more video based stuff. I already see a lot to improve on when it comes to the camera stuff when it comes to the video side of things.

                • OMG HI!!

Ever wonder what import life was like in 2002 in Detroit?

Oh, also, pseudo update on the car.

I got the ok to work from home full time and move where ever. So, I wrapped up some projects and took my Covid profits to move across state. The car came out of its temporary cell this past weekend! It is ready to head to the Blain Bros. for some love, Many have come to my YouTube looking for updates. Should I do updates there?

I have also decided to do a drag and drive version of the car, once this is running. That one I will put on the YouTubes rather than doing a build thread,

                  • I was going to make a YouTube video of todays trip but, I didn't press the record button on the trip home, doing a recap of the trip. But, here are two pictures. Blain Brothers are doing a tube front, getting the motor in the correct place, building the turbo kit and, doing the tin work for the rear.
