Drop the column. The speedo cable will need to removed. There is a hidden bolt that bolts the dash to the pedal assembly. I draw a picture of the dash on cardboard then punch holes in it where the bolts and screws go, seems like no two are the same.

A second set of hands will help to put it back it. The wires stay with the dash unplug from the body harness.

Can't remember how many pictures I took on project consolidation.

Does anybody rebuild Fox body gauge clusters? You know why I'm asking. I promise you, you know.

I don't know, i would look for a used one. The 85 mph should be next to free the 140 speedo might cost more.

Let's play a guessing game: what failed in the 302 meant for this car? I have needle bearings, two pieces of what seem to be the same item, two chunks I can't identify, and a roll pin that just fell out of somewhere. There was also a decent amount of magnetic sludge. Most of this was found in the pan, some bearings were found still on the crankshaft, some in the sludge that fell into a box I placed underneath the engine.

Anybody needs me, I'll be in the garage, yelling obscenities.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I started pulling lifters out.

I sure was not expecting sixteen perfectly good lifters and an unmarred camshaft.

I've had good luck with stock Ford roller lifters so I'm not surprised to see yours in good shape. Still no clue as to the source of those odd oil pan components.

Okay, next up on the agenda: engine wiring. For the most part, what remains is minimal. Most of it I don't need...going carburetor and old-school setup on it for now. But what I do want, I need to figure out locations for, and I need to understand what the ECU might do if it doesn't get the right inputs.

Right now, I'm trying to locate, from the firewall connection points: engine coolant temp sensor wire, engine oil pressure signal wire, reverse indicator wire loom. I also need to determine if the "low oil level" signal wire can be separated from the 02 sensor loom, and if so where that wire is located relative to the firewall. I don't want to put twenty tons of wiring back into this car for no reason. Remember, this stock was a four-cylinder car, not a 5.0.

I'm hunting for hard-copy schematics now but if anybody can help, I'd appreciate it.

I think most of that goes back to the black or grey connector by the master cylinder. I know the WT and OP go back to the black one ignition switch to coil is in grey one.

Next bit of fun: Carbureted setup, need directions on how to rig up the heater hoses properly, since there seem to be about twenty-seven individual sections if you go by the catalog. I've got the restrictor bit that goes in one of the hoses, but seriously...what the hell?!

And please hurry. I'm hoping to need this info in the next day or two.

One goes to the water pump one to the front of the intake water passage. I can tell you which is which tomorrow if you need it. Are you trying to use the water pipes?
