once again Jim - your work and work ethic are inspiring! Great job - it's amazing how much things have changed, these were certainly built with the KISS principle in mind. I did not realize until reading this thread that they didn't have a water pump or an oil pump! I agree on the leaks - there are several of these running daily (pre covid anyway) at the Henry Ford village - the streets are well oiled! I don't think the machining or the gaskets were where they needed to be for a few decades to actually have a leak free machine - think of it as a perpetual oil change.
There's always something new to learn.

There apparently somewhere are pictures of a Model T dealership with new cars inside, and oil drip pans under them! The original gasket material was wool.

went to the gas station today. About five miles. It was around 100 out, and yes, it was boiling part of the time. Which is kind of normal...

'Tis true! Just thinking this one is especially interesting. Of course, you probably wouldn't want to drive it on the expressway......

That's the thing, it's not very practical today.

No racing for this one. I could probably do the quarter mile in under a minute, I suppose.

I would like to drive up to Tucson, but not quite yet. Perhaps Tombstone, or maybe Bisbee, first.

I'm taking a mechanical break, while I wait for my new cooling system parts to arrive (the fan hub bushings are shot). Doing some interior work, just because I can. I spent $75 for a bunch of cloth in the clearance isle, and about that much on other supplies. I'm going to leave the seat alone, it's already done, and works ok. There are a lot of little panels and things to make, it's a complicated interior for such a simple car.
