Making fun of perceived Canadian accent. Been in and out of Canada all my life (had an aunt in London and now a daughter in Innisfil) and rarely have I heard that. Now vinegar on French fries - YES!

I find it fascinating how people can sound so different when separated by an imaginary line . People in Blaine Washington (border town) sound so different than the people in White Rock BC which is only a 15 minute walk across the border.

Years ago my sister was in a burger joint in California and asked for some vinegar . The waitress looked puzzled and brought out a small bowl of vinegar , she stood there and watched to see what my sister was going to do with it so she showed her. My sister insisted with a laugh that she try a frie with the vinegar , the waitress loved it lol !

                Yes there are accents....
In reality, it's the words used, or phrases that
                people catch onto the most.
"Ya dere, eh" and ",eh" is pronounced a long "A"
"Gander up your Stuff, eh" "we gotta git goin here soon"
                Double oo's kinda have a "U" sound.

But Yooper and Canadian's can tell each other apart,
                Right off.
Yoopers buy Cases of Beer ..
                Canadian's its by the Crate.....

Now that's how to START a Argument....er, No

and yet it's true. Boston isn't that far from NY yet they don't speak the same language... and they don't speak the same language as west Virginia....

what's even more fun is people who don't think they have an accent.

I'm learning Southern. Turns out there is no "Southern" as it varies wildly from place to place though there are some similarities. I love them all.

A Yooper is a general term for those from the Upper(Yoo) Peninsula (P) folks from Michigan ....Yooper.... Often times spelled UPer....

true, especially if you get farther south then the panhandle of Florida.

heh, they're a distinct breed of individual. e.g. Captain. I'm pretty sure that, while most of us avoid rust, that they are attracted to it. They would rather fix the holes then buy machines that don't have the holes (such as ones from Arizona). Not that I don't admire their pluck, but we now have two examples of Yoopers who make cars out of swiss cheese.

ID:	1344145 Ordered a driveshaft on Tuesday and picked it up today and it fit like a glove. While rolling around under this thing I noticed some rusty spots on the rockers so I attacked them. Just surface rust so I sanded them smooth and sprayed on some rust paint. Tomorrow I’ll take the next step.

Getting stuff done today. Repainting the spots I had to fix. Dupli-Color has a touch up paint that is bang on to the original colour so when I see some on the shelf I grab it. A neighbour of mine drives truck for a living and occasionally visits a fab shop and they allow him to pick from their scrap pile. I do repairs and the occasional fab job for him at no charge, I just tell him to replace the material that I use. Yesterday he dropped off approximately 75 lbs of assorted steel, so today I decided to organize my stock pile. I built a rack to go under my work bench , now I have to find a new location for my grinders , etc … I need a bigger shop
