In my opinion, the quality of motor mounts has gone down hill significantly in the last 10 - 15 years. I ended up making some adapter plates to use urethane mountsOriginally posted by langleylad View Post
I didn’t find that 10mm but I did find a broken driver side motor mount. That’s the second one to go since I’ve owned it.Comment

My wife thinks that I’m crazy and I’m starting to believe her. I can’t do things the easy way. Case in point, I’m doing an LS swap so I might as well rewire the truck while I’m at it. It’ll make for a cleaner easier swap. Plus Speedway has the kit I need on sale. Also I’m dropping the tank to add a Walbro 450 pump so I might as well clean and paint the frame . I have some other ideas rolling around in my head also . Oh ya, I’ve also ditched the complete HVAC system too . Who needs that ? ....Comment

Using vintage air cleans up the engine compartment also....

I need HVAC I am a wimp
. DW2019 I pull up beside some guys second gen f-body. Roll the window down and ask them if the route is straight or left it seemed like the written directions were different than the online ones.
The responds was you got AC in that? Yep!
I do have to slow down on the interstate while towing the trailer with the AC on it's starts to run warm.Comment

I installed the engine and TH400 using Trans dapt motor mounts. These mounts sit the engine really low . If I hadn’t sectioned the crossmember I’m sure there would be contact in a couple of places. So I’ve decided to use part of the kit and I fab up new frame mounts to lift the engine up an inch or two. As it sits the exhaust manifolds which need heavy modifications which I knew from the start. Passenger side points straight at the frame rail and the driver side has issues with the steering box which has issues with the PS pump . The steering shaft also wants to share the same space with the exhaust manifold . These swap mounts also place the engine a little too forward, which makes it nice to get to the transmission bell housing bolts. So the plan is to move the engine up and back and see how things look. Intake to hood clearance I’m sure will be tight . I’ll also have to fabricate a trans crossmember .

I put button head bolts where the PS pump interferes... but I think you need to move the engine wayyyyyy back... have you set the core support on yet?Doing it all wrong since 1966Comment

Ya , about two minutes after I rolled the lift back. Wasn’t too bad but an inch or two more will be better. I just got home from the metal supply shop . Picked up some tubing for the new mount but I won’t have the poly bushings till Sunday.Originally posted by SuperBuickGuy View PostI put button head bolts where the PS pump interferes... but I think you need to move the engine wayyyyyy back... have you set the core support on yet?Comment

Mounts are built. I thought of welding them directly to the crossmember but instead I welded them to plate that will be bolted in the stock location. Which should ease the engine/transmission installation.
