Thanks guys.
A little scrape, a little sand, and very little rough buff.
I still need to spray the bedliner before slinging too much compound.
It'll get there.

On the Mad Max Sammy, used it extensively.
But used the Rattle Can method. And even as "Thick" as it looks out of the can, it will "RUN" like any another spray paint. One trick is to Spray From a further distance away and do a better job of Masking Off areas you don't want coated......

That actually isn't bad at all! I use a razor blade holder thingie that works sort of like a plane so you can cut the tops off the runs which greatly simplifies block sanding. Wet sand carefully and always with a block then buff and it'll look great.

Well moving the bed into the other shop went pretty smoothly....except for the pucker factor that is.
It took 3 tries to get off of the tractor seat.
A couple scuffs on the wheel tubs inside the bed from dropping the lift jig were the only actual drama.

I was hoping for some milestone progress this weekend.
There's nothing like a guide coat and a "long block" to smash your hopes and dreams.
The tailgate is slightly worse, but I knew that. This door and the tailgate have had some serious abuse in in their 55 years of service.
I had to change shirts already at 0930. Ugh, I'm too old and fat for this sh**
Yes that block is a hunk of poplar, and yes, it is planed perfectly straight :-)

That would be nice!
The reality is, we will be moving in the coming months, so I just need to SUCK IT UP!
All non-essential spending on the current facility is on hold.
I AM NOT LOOKING FORWARD TO THE PACK OUT!!!

It was a 500 mi trek here (less than MI to NC!) when my wife's job was unexpectedly eliminated.
Now that her contract is up, and they have not lived up to their promises, we hope to start heading back in the TN direction.
I was hoping to stay put for a few more years, so we too could go back to our retirement dwelling.
I did get bit done this week...It's never enough though!
The doors are painted and hung on the cab. Hopefully for the last time.
The cowl vent cover is blasted, but I'm out of epoxy sealer.
still need to sand and buff, but waiting on the fenders
I rebuilt the vent windows for the second time. The rubber seals were made wrong on the first set.
the glass wouldn't close (latch). I broke both latch assys messing with it. I ordered another set of seals out of desperation.
Low and behold, the new set worked. GRRRRRR

Good enough for a driver....and to make my pile of parts just a little smaller
I'm missing some door hardware, so while waiting on paint to dry and parts to show up, time for interior sorting.
