Check out this new rag joint that's been on backorder for weeks. UUGGGG

The bore is too big and only 1/3 of it has splines.....Want to guess where it was made?

Rag joint.. we convert to u-joint in derby cars.
they are stout. But you don’t get the dampening of the rag.

It's all reminding me why I resisted the "LS fad" for so long
The other head was worse, someone tried to drill out a broken exhaust stud and missed.

              It's ALWAYS something.

Setbacks are indeed a way of life around here.
I'm pretty good with the ones out of my control, the ones I cause tend to cause flying objects and bad words to happen .

I'm pretty sure I don't even qualify for the burnt hands category. I depend on stubbornness to achieve goals

Yeah well, like I said before, I've never been accused of being smart.

I just wanted to be able to say, "I've done it".
I would rather understand the process than take the easy way and buy the "kit"
Not that there's anything wrong with the kit, this is primarily a brain exercise for me.
IF I ever do it again, shortcuts will have been earned

Not a lot of progress here lately.
Too cool and damp to proceed with body work. It's hard to justify heating the tall building for a few hours a night.
I have assembled a few of the interior cab parts (yes its too early but i needed a fix).

Be honest, does this make my shop look big?

Well. it makes it seem bigger from here. Too bad it's just a mockup test.

Soooo after looking over the fitment, I've decided the new fenders are NO BUENO. The grill isn't even close to fitting.

Two steps back. Time to move on to making fender patches. This should be fun.

Either you modify the new fenders to fit or maybe cut the required patch panels out of the new fenders to fix the old ones. It's probably a toss of the coin as to which is easier.
