HaHa I don't actually save those, I'm just slow getting them tossed out.
Looking through that little pile, there's slugs from construction paper, gasket material, shim stock, aluminum, and C.R.S. You never know around here.

So, I was back in the shop today (someone left it a MESS! ) .

I'm out of bolts and wires to remove from the cab.
We are nearing final cleanup inside the cab. Dressing welds checking for pin holes, sanding, epoxy, lizard skin, and paint the interior.

My wife said You aren't going to leave that are you?
She's talking about the radio slot that was hacked out with a pocketknife to accommodate a single din radio.
Honestly, I don't think it bothers me, but now I'm wondering if I should change it back.

Should I want to spend twice the money for a radio that sorta looks old? What say the Bang Shifters?

Nah. But you could make a little plate to cover the hole for now. A spray can later and it'll look fine.

I like a working radio in my cars. Don't have many requirements after working. What "look" are you going for? Nothing wrong with putting a single din back in. If it's going to be a driver that's what I would do . My friends in 90's with C10s keep the original radio or block off plate and mounted a new radio under the dash or in the glove box. This is what I would do for a show truck.

Thanks guys. No plans for a show truck, just a nice weekend cruiser.
I know I wasn't clear, but I need some tunes for road trips.
I think I'll pick up a single din unit to make sure the hole fits and run with it.

The new to me blast cabinet is tuned up and working.
The clutch/brake assy, emergency brake assy, and hood hinges got blasted and painted today....Yay for small steps
I think I might be avoiding more grinding

It looks like the recovered junkyard K5 seats will work out.
            Another bite processed.

Did this same thing to get Cloth Seats in the Marrakesh Express. 2 different era Ford Vans. Sitting a little higher now, but my ancient body (hips) like it on the long rides

I decided to convert the truck to electric so delete the gas filler hole.

Also, the slightly blistered spot welds at the rear of the cab finally got deleted.
I've been trying to ignore them, but in the end, they had to go.
                New inner and outer patches.
I used a slight overlap on the skin panel due to not being able to hammer/dolly the seam.
                Rank amateur, I admit it!

My eyes are getting pretty bad, but the lens from my welding helmet was compounding the situation.
With a new lens I can see more gooder.

I snuck into the fab building today with high hopes.

The power went out just as I laid down on the floor to grind a few low welds....

Oh well, at least she's gettin' naked for me

This is the last remaining green on the cab.
Most of the welds are dressed.
I found two new "thin spots" that need to be addressed, and a few pin holes.

WIfey is off this coming week, her choice of entertainment??????

                                BATHROOM REMODEL!?! .............yay!
