Oof. 5.13's are prob a little deeper than this car needs! Thanks for the offer though.
He is looking at a set of 4.11's that are here locally.
Judd vacuumed it out and we moved the car to the shop yesterday.
Today he set about regluing the driver's side window in the Galaxie. It had come loose from the front plate and was flopping around in the door. On the passenger side, he lubed up the mechanism so it works smoothly now.
This thing makes a 28/10.5 look small. The wheel is the wrong bolt pattern or I would have bolted it on. I sure wish this car was 5 on 4.5 like most everything else I have. (Full size Ford cars were 5 on 5)
Edit: they might actually be 5 on 4.5. All the rotors and drums on Rockauto show 4.5. If that is correct, that is good news!
I thought that ford used 2 bolt patterns back in the day 5 on 4.5 and 5 on 5.5. I thought that the 5.5s were used mostly on trucks/vans but could have been used in the big bruisers of the day.
That poor dash! Is there a simple solution? Turning up the radio works for squeaks and rattles but I'm not aware of a similar fix for dashes other than a dash mat.

Dan
Dash pads are available but are not within the budget for this project. Dash mats are cheap and will be what he uses if he decides it needs something.
We have gears! There was a local set of 4.11's for sale for $75, but we found a deal on Walmart.com for $105, so Judd ordered the new ones. Walmart.com also has the best price on a set of headers for this thing. They are about $40 less than Summit with free shipping.
I'm going to go on the record here and say that there is no way this car remains under 5k. (Or are we now at the Monster Garage calculator where the 'gifts' aren't counted?)
Also, this is a less traveled page, if you want views, have Monster move it to the main project page.... and in all honesty, your son should get the most views possible - what he's doing is both cool and should be copied by as many kids (or adults, I suppose) as see it.
Their online presence operates much like Amazon. Stuff like the headers are drop shipped from Hooker.
I don't typically shop at their stores even though there is one right by my house, but I will use them for stuff like this if the savings is significant.
