  • I have a plastic AC wire pulling snake that often works and for the same reasons. I also have an old one with a flat spring steel wire and it doesn't work in these situations - that's why I bought the newer one. All in all, I'll use whatever works and I have no pride at all.

    • Onto finding out what parts I forgot to order..
      Installing felts

after 2videos I still have no idea why these clips are here

installing the grill, the clips don't really hold so a bit of glue

      the 'other' style...

      set in place

      bumper on

since the bumper's on there, might as well test fit the13k winch

I like the hoop but side riders?

      hmm

      yes

bumper is on mostly to give me a place to stand.... in that vein I'm not welding it on yet - because I'm clumsy and would trip on it

      • time to figure out why the pump is leaking
but first, make it easier to work on

        then fix the intake

this is where I'm at... playing tetris getting the intake out... think I need to pull the upper radiator hose

I often use the tubing for feeding refrigerator ice makers for snaking wire.... industrial electrician's trick..... no metal parts and cheap....

          • time to fix the leak
            bottom most line....

            fixed

            reassembly

I've done so many of these I suppose it was my turn to not get them all completely tight. It was suggested a long extension and crow's foot ... nope.... ah well, if I wasn't hacking and sniffling I suppose this would have been a one evening task... alas, it wasn't

                      • It was a top day.... Since snow is forecast, probably a good time to get them ready for winter
                        them?
                        well the FJ40 too
                        summer

                        not summer

let's try that with the Blazer
oh wait... first I need to move the forklift.
which would be easy if I knew where the keys went
then, of course, it's not ready to be put on anything
                        pressure wash

first round got most of the dirt

                        then soap

                        then sticker removal

                        cleaned up okay

                        then on the truck

next up is paint. I have new seals, but I needs some help in the paint department

                        • not a lot to take pictures of today (working on cleaning the engine compartment)
                          but starting on the bumper

                          hooks and everything

                          • Assembly continues
got the panels for the door

then spent quality time cleaning and painting seat belts

                            the other dirty one

                            then cleaning

                            ugh

                            assembly picture

                            and painting

before the uproar... I'm getting the belts rewebbed. None of the aftermarket products have the door popper that Blazers have. Meaning, big, ugly hole if I don't reuse them.

                            • glass installation
                              first rubber

                              then clean glass

                              then glass

Have I ever mentioned I'm not a fan of aftermarket panels?
note, 2 screw holes to hold the windwing in place

                              missing something?

they forgot to drill this hole

we take this moment to not destroy a door while unsticking a regulator that somehow managed to get caught in the glass channel
                              glue the pads in place

                              and the other

now that I've calmed back down.
                              glass in driver's door

glad I put sound deadener in it... so less tinny

a tip. These things are good tell on how good the rebuilder is.... they go under the screw that holds the windwing in place. Forget them and the door will squeak and rattle (well, squeak and rattle more)

I did forget to put the mirror braces in... ah well, tomorrow

                              • the long, dark tea-time of the build. It's where it's forever Tuesday - you do stuff, but nothing seems to get done. Thankfully, I know it will end but it's still only Thursday (deep, huh?)
I do think I made a wise choice adding the red accent to the interior. No, no red seat belts. to illustrate what this is like

if you have a desire to have attractive, topless ladies in your rig... go for it, otherwise, we will leave this to the people who can build cool vehicles
Now that I've completely lost your attention
back to that tea time. I finished the doors

                                and went onto the tailgate

you'd think that in all of those parts, would be all the parts I need.

                                you would be wrong
see that bracket? there should be 2. I didn't take this apart so I get to spend the rest of my time looping around shop trying to figure out where that one piece went

                                woohoo?

maybe if I went with red seat belts, no one would notice I don't have a rear window?
