Just sayin' that with fabrication skills and knowledge, anything is possible! could even buy a slide in, chop it down and modify it to work!

I may do that... the worst thing about any poptop is they leak like a sieve - so they're usually rotted. Truth is I'm going to follow these styles

no, not chopping the sides (though that would be kind of cool) - because I want the switchblade of either the stock top or the slide-in. Campers have come a long, long way since the FWC type tops... Even more likely is the utilities (fridge, heater, cook stove, will all store inside (and could be used inside) however, will be portable enough to use outside and do basecamps.

I'll either do an aluminum frame with fiberglass/carbon-fiber outside or use the build panels that are available There's a company out of Germany that makes panels specifically for the overland market... imagine a camper that weighs less then the top I'm removing....

and the content - the build, will likely be exclusive here. I'm tired of being copied.

they could copy this, my Blazer has some non-factory vents

now we know what that rattley sound was... ah well
I'm sure this piece was important

and a bit of door vent

this *$*&@@@ hitch... it isn't coming out.... why? I have no clue

always enjoy some professionally installed wiring

still, it's what I expected.... and another 6.2 is available near me for less then 1k
make it run, get it painted, move forward.

it's a time saver, drain oil and coolant all at once.

every build starts with cleanup... I'm pretty sure that nothing has been cleaned under this truck (probably preserved it)

looks so much better in the dark

got the rear gate open... the cable had been disconnected... no idea why - the motor works fine

                      nothing new carpet won't cure

                      saving this for FGZ

                      nothing left but holes

                            Powerplants.
The easy button is find another 6.2 or 6.5. The cool is an optimizer 6.5. Perhaps I should LS it. Or Duramax. Or 8.1 (the lowest purchase price of all of that list). Cummins swap?
truth be told, I am leaning towards the 8.1 - diesel prices being what they are. Or build the 6.5 I have. Or

                            drum roll
use my Suburban for parts. Put good head studs in that motor and run it.

                            Prices:
                            6.2 $1200 and up
                            6.5 $2500 and up
                            LS $2500 and up
                            8.1 $1600 and up
                            build a 6.5 $3000
                            Duramax $4500 and up
                            Cummins $5500 and up
