I'm too lazy to re-find your race post - but wasn't your reaction time .17something? trust me, I'm not a tree jockey, however perhaps the first place to start would be to copy Steve's Christmas tree and practice reaction times
Clock starts when the car moves. In theory you can sit with the green light on for minutes and still rip off a 10 second pass.
I learned this during Drag Week when I was told that Drag Week participants aren't known for their reaction times :P
What engine RPM are you turning when you go through the traps?
Is there any room to move in the axle ratio department?
Lighter wheels / tires will certainly help on a multitude of levels - not only reducing the weight of the vehicle, but also the energy required to get those wheels rotating, or slow them down (improved braking as well).
I would hate to see you sacrifice the drivability of this badboy in an effort to reduce quarter mile times for occasional use.
I have to say a one piece 'glass tilt front end would be bitchen - not sure how much weight that would help you loose off the front end.
Is the battery up front or in the trunk?
Lightweight radiator certainly sounds like a good place to loose a few lbs too....
The battery is up front and will stay there. It has 3.25 gears in it now, which puts it around 5500 thru the lights with the 275/50 drag radials. I'm not going to change the gears.
I might look into glass fenders and hood, I don't think I want to go with a tilt front. And the radiator support that's in it now is something I threw together in a hurry, it's pretty heavy, I might redo that.
I guess I need to have a picture help poll...get everyone who can't see the pictures to tell me their IP address, then I can complain to my web page host about the DNS problem. They don't believe me that people can't see my web page.
Making a timed run with my blown 55 Chevy at Fontana drag strip, on the CarJunkieTV drag bash. The CJTV guys have moved to http://www.freiburgersjunkyard.com/
