Seems like with about 16" between the top of the intake and the bottom of the hood, the motor could come up a bit? After living with a low-hanging pan in my longtime Vega driver I've never left a fluid pan being the lowest point on a chassis, I always think of the joke, What is an Oh-No bird? It's a bird with two-inch legs and three-inch b***s and every time it comes in to land it goes "OH NO! OH NO!" Some mount re-fab and a trans tunnel would be a PITA but avoid potential indignity later. On the other hand I suppose you could call the running boards the low point and I'm guessing the trans pan is above that.

That requires more "butchery" of the floor in a vehicle with limited floor space as it is.... I can see both sides of the idea though....

Seems like there's enough floor space to get a trans up out of the things that might damage it, if that's where it is, but you'd have to have sheetmetal capabilities in your solution-kit...

the worse part about the floor issue is this. The custom seat is already done - it's a bench seat.

stack a bunch of washers/spacers under seat mounting bolts to lift it high enough to clear new tunnel...
unless hes over 6ft you "should" have a few inches of room to spare before head / roof interferance..

That's where my build books live. I've wondered if you can print off a whole thread once the car is "done" (or as close to done as any of these get).

steering column won't require tons of bracket making

I love KBS coating, but their estimation for 'a frame' is about 50% low. it's covered by not with 2 coats

then flipped up on its side to get the bottom

next up with this is drying but then we start reassembly for real

now the fun of getting the parts that were missing.... It's amazing how well they did (Art Morrison) but they weren't perfect.... we're missing the master cylinder

there may be a wrinkle, though, everyone is moving. I'm headed to Sandpoint, Anthony is headed to Atlanta Georgia... all very soon. Thus, not sure how much more work is going to get done. I may reassemble enough to send it east.... there's a shop there that is going to pick up and run with it....

I don't know - I have answers but they leave more questions. The truck is going to a shop in Georgia, Anthony is likely going to work on it there with help (not sure if help is they do it or he does it).

They have lived all over - so this isn't really out of the ordinary.
