not a fan of cables, great for when you got stuck and needed chains to get past the CHP. However, they don't grip the tire good enough to be any real aid.
And this is also true, I'm not paid by the mile - if it gets too sketchy, I stop and entertain the bedbugs.

To this day, since the late 70s, I haven’t used chains, just good all terrain tires and a posi…. Common sense has served me well on most occasions…..

common sense is an oxymoron as it isn't common.

          hidden hitch installed

I'd picture the mirror install but I hate them so I'll post whatever I end up doing

I've finally answered my own question

what is the difference between P30 axles and Dually pickups? nothing if you bought the cab/chassis Dually.
The tl;dr is the width for the trucks with a pickup bed is wider then the P30 axle.

Now to decide if I'm going with 19.5 wheels on my truck....

I like the look of 19.5 compared to the 16 or 16.5 of a 1 ton . On my truck they were factory put on to make room for bigger brakes . ( Discs front and rear ) . And while I love them , I really would like to move up to 22.5s someday . Maybe if I 4x4 it .

it's funny you mention that. I put it in the shop on Friday to do some work on it Sunday
The exhaust - for reasons (I'm sure) they moved the cat back and used it as a muffler.

                  and overall in crap shape

I bought a 'cat back' kit for the truck with a 40 series flowmaster

found another axle for it - near where I'm moving, interestingly enough. I'll either get it Tuesday or Friday... then it needs to get to work

I'm guessing, of course (who knows people's motivations?) but many folks have no clue that the closer to the exhaust out of the engine the higher the temps and the better the cat works. There's a lot of cluelessness in the world. That said, I'm going to have to move the one on the MGB from attached to the manifold to about 8" downstream - there's simply no room in the engine bay for a cat.

This was a ranch truck, a hot cat is a guaranteed forest/range fire. There's actually an exception to the rules where this truck came from (North Powder, Oregon) that allows them to move it back. After all, a forest fire puts a lot more bad stuff in the air then any one truck.... just sayin'

So , did you go with a 10 lug rear or stick with the 8 . I seem to recall you thinking about 19.5 wheels . So , 1 muff ? Two in one out ? Pipe sizes ? Just curious , my 8.1 has something like two 3 inch pipes going in to the muff and one going out of the muff. No idea on size out. Probably 3" . It's quiet...... Can't here it idle at a light . It has staggered cats on each pipe just a bit down from the engine for packaging sake. Some days I really want to open it up and other days I think it's sounds perfect.

it needs to earn its keep first. I'm picking up a new to it rear differential tomorrow then it gets to make lots of round trips hauling cars and my box trailer to Sandpoint. It's day in the spa is at least 2 years away....

picked up the replacement rear for the truck. 3.73 gears and 14b.... which I'm far more familiar with.

                            cranes are nice

next moment I get, I'm bolting it in along with putting the blazer bumper on the truck. then a bunch of finishing up things and it gets put to work
