Popped the YZ forks apart and did a little comparison. I also replaced ther clutch arm seal and repaired the clutch arm with a little weld and grind.

Something is missing!

I've been trying to get the clutch adjusted but it just wasn't working right. I have come to the conclusion that the "throw out" bearing, literally a small ball bearing, that lies inside the clutch shaft is MIA. In fact, I may have seen it on the floor a few days ago but didn't know what it was. Haha. Learning as I go!

Clutch is fixed! Old tires are off! Stator might be wrong though!

Stator update: The stator that came in the box with this thing, I think, is for a 1978 IT175. It is too large to fit into the case of the 83. I did some part number chasing and figured out that there are a few other bikes that share the stator with this bike, so that opens up the pool of available parts considerably.

Front wheel is back on the bike but it was not without some work. The hole in the brake shoes that seat on the pin was too small. I ended up having to drill it out so the shoes would actually fit in the drum. Gotta love modifying brand new parts.

Sounds like building an MGB! The replacement parts fit pretty well (there's a whole industry that revolves around MGB parts) but anything outside of stock replacements and you're pretty much on your own. Example - my emergency brake system wound up being a mix of early and late parts with some shop-fabricated connecting bits. Bottom line - I can relate!

I cut it 2 links too short. I counted the existing chain, but really should have looked at the service manual. It states 103 links and i cut this one to 101.

Where the chain is running over your Workmate, it's being pushed up to the swingarm, take that deviation out and you should be able to get the link in.
