Made it home from our mini trip

I seem to have contracted a new PLAGUE....I'm calling it the Hagfish Plague.

While I was gone, the trench for my power was NOT dug AGAIN

I started trying to get this building build in DECEMBER.
I'll wager I have X10 amount of time being stood up/delayed by people and contractors than the 10-12 weeks it took to pour concrete and get dried in.

The dirt guy is a friend, but I'll never hire him again. Now he's saying Friday.

It's getting pretty hard to see inside without lights.
The 250' of extension cords to my porch will only run the chop saw or compressor for the nail guns, not both.
Plugging in the overhead lights is not an option.

I did find a car I wanted to buy. If I only had a place to park it. It's a perfect shop truck!

It has a GTO 400/4speed, Grand Prix nose and wheels and as close to rust free as I've seen in a long time

    cool car.

Love the "Blues Brothers" rattle can Paint job !! Now you need only a Push Bumper, some Product/Shops stickers in the Rear most windows, and a Equalizer Trailer Hitch for your Drag Nights Hauler.
You could bring 3-4 of your Rusty Iron Junkie Friends as your Crew.
(Mostly to Sneak them in without paying). Track Burgers and Beers are "A Waiting!"

You have to get it! Or post the phone number and let one of us go down another rabbit hole! The family had big Pontiacs back in the 60s and 70s. Dad towed his wooden powerboat on a two axle trailer with the first one, no problems! I bet the boat-trailer combo outweighed the car…

At least now most tire shops have rim clamp tire machines to work on the wheels! used to have an adapter for use on the Coats 20 tire machines or do it with tire irons only!

Here is his number. His shop is in Kokomo Indiana. Please don't bother him if you can't be bothered to actually go and look at it.
People should also know the price is firm. There is no carpet in it, I didn't see ANY rust in the floors. It's solid!

The shop is moving SLOOOOOW. The delays are piling up. it took 6 weeks the get the dirt guy to come back for the electric trench/backfill.
He hit ledge in 3 places. Needless to say, it's been slow going. I even had a drill steel stuck 30" deep in rock for a week.

In other news, wifey got a new ride. She picked up a N.O.S. 2024 Yamaha Mt-07. She's embracing the dark side. She's such a Hoonigan

that rock doesn't look like any fun at all. The bike, though, is cool

On our home/shop project there is a lot of rock - and imagine my disappointment when I found it was far more economical to rent a power hammer for an excavator then to make things go boom. It's like life isn't fair.

This has been quite the project! Holy Smokes! It took me over a year just to deal with a 28x36 addition to my shop that already had power going to it. At this point I have three sub panels, LOL. This shop is going to be FANTASTIC!
There's always something new to learn.

                              No fun!?!

                              understatement of the year!!!

I've been drilling 1.5" holes and using demo grout. Dexpand is the brand name I've been using.
18000 psi of expansion and it does a fair job IF you have an open side so it can move.
In the ditch it will crack the rock, but it won't just come out without additional hammertime festivities.

I had a "guy" come over to blast. He said that his insurance won't allow blasting within 300' of an existing structure. NO BUENO!!

Oh well, slow and steady at least won’t destroy the rest of the facility… I miss breaking things for a living. Sometimes I even got to blow something up! Long story, it was my first research position.
