Exhaust is 99% done. Just needs some turn-downs on the ends. My welds look ugly with a camera flash but not so bad on person. lol

Looks excellent! You may want to move your intake more towards the front of the engine compartment so you're not sucking all that hot air off the headers.

Yes, I agree. I am thinking of routing it farther forward and putting the filter pointing down just behind the headlight area.

looks really nice- those welds look great considering you had to weld that on your back under the truck!

that's a lot of fab work!

I like the intake - amazing it all fits under the stock hood.

X2 on the air filter relocation - get it into the fenderwell if you can - or at least up behind the headlight- if you can put it into a "box" that would even be better....

all in time --- sure looks good! those headers must have taken lots of HOURS!!!!

Well. I should have double checked before I broke out the plasma..... I didn't need a hole after all but the cutter is just too darn much fun.



I think I'll just put a flat hood on later to make it sneakier.

cool - what kind of plasma do you have?

I'd really love to have a plasma and a tig before I tear into all the metal work on my '69 mach1.

Well I finally got it to idle without burning my eyes. lol

I ordered a JAW wideband controller yesterday so I can safely tune this thing. --> www.14point7.com

The Hooker Maxflows do take the edge off the noise, but it isn't quiet by any stretch of the imagination.

The roller rockers are quite noisy as well. Enough so that I pulled a vc and checked the lash. It was just where I set it. After a quick search, it seems noisy rockers are more common than I thought.

Wifey will be out of town this weekend, so I will be able to finish up a lot of the little things I need to get done before I can drive it.

I noticed that on the 'Stang, even with a full exhaust and cats, and hydraulic roller lifters. I was sure that something was terribly wrong, but after checking with others. it seems to be pretty normal.

Yup
I've had crane, comp, and ford motor sport --- they were all a bit noisy.... set lash repeatedly trying to get them to shut up.... nature of the beast I've been told.

I can only imagine what a solid lifter engine sounds like......

Something like that, they make a few different coatings for that type of application. I do drive Buicks so I do kinda like my engines refined and somewhat quiet.
