Re: Big Motor, Little Truck. The BBR... aka "Tooth and Nail"
Finally back together. I used a thermal switch out of an 84 Dodge kcar to turn on the fan. Sitting in the shop idling, the temp comes up to an indicated 210? and then the fan comes on and the temp starts going down. It seemed to come down to about 190 and stay there. I made a new core support piece (PITA) to hold the left side to the right side and hold the radiator and locate the fan. Turned out OK considering how many times I screwed up making it. The fact that the rad is farther forward means the stock hood latch would not work. Hello hood pins. FYI, Spectre brand hood pins are junky. Well the pins themselves are very nice, but the cover plates are stupid thin and really easy to bend.
I think I need to go back to my old camera. The flash on this one is way too intense.
Rad is about as far forward as possible. lol
Very cozy in there.
Pinned hoody.
This thing is starting to feel like a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. Just when you think you are there, somebody up and moves the end of the damn rainbow.
I wanted to get it out today, but after yesterday's torrential rain, I might have needed 4wd to get down my alley.
Oh yeah I also installed a power inverter so I can run a laptop in there all the time, adjusted the BBR-tracs to the upper hole, fixed a leaky dipstick tube o-ring, relocated the trans coolers from the front to under the bed (turned out nice I might add) and took a semi-bath in trans fluid. I hate that stuff.
