  • Look what followed me home.....

1984 GMC sierra has the typical cab corner rust, but the doors are perfect the front fenders are good, just not sure if they are aftermarkets or stockers that where primed yet, I know the hood is aftermarket.

Nice body style and a good start to a project.

Yea I bought it to hop up a little bit , and to use for towing, so I can stop exceeding the towing capacity of my s10 there with a 180k on the original trans..lol

                Thanks for the approval guys..lol
did a little troubleshooting today, think the coil is bad on the dist. getting a rea weak park , and i think the motor is toast, turns over like its got every plug out of it..lol checked one cyl and it had like 85 PSI. so its prolly got be yanked out .

well new coil is in , drained the 2 gallons of gas out of the tank and filled with 4 gallons of crappy ethanol watered down swill they pass off as gas nowadays and it started, but it sucks so bad you have to give it at least half throttle to keep it running .lol so out it comes.

Wow. Too bad you bought that. John McGann is now selling his 86 Caprice coupe.

Re: Look what followed me home.....

well a little update, the 305 that is in it is complete junk, i did get it to run..barely, but now it just shoots a mist of fuel out of the top of the carb..lol and has 85 psi of compression on the #1 cyl, so I got to looking around craigslist and found a guy selling 2 327 blocks, was was a complete short block 68 , virgin bores and the other was a 66 small jounal steel crank, but no rods or pistons. wasted 300 for both, told him i woul;d take both for 140 . He said ok, as he was moving and didn't want to have to take em with him, some rust in the bores, but the 68 cleaned up nice and I'm just gonna rering it for now. then my neighbor told me yesterday he has a 327 i can have..lol so now I'm 327 poor.

Nice score on the motors and the truck.

Those rockers are clean....good stuff. Like everyone else said, finding one that is not consumed by the rust monster is getting tough.
