I say black looks great on a car as nice as yours but then the car is nice enough it could be any color and look great

Any solid color below the windows would look good. Then flake or lace the roof. Give the car a little more depth/personality.

I was thinking I like it just how it is. Shiney black would be great too

Two tone wont look right unless you are planning to put all the side trim back on. I dont remember mentioning that aspect of the build.

Kinda needs a solid single color to look right, since it's "strippo" 150 looking.

It's hard to screw up a 55, although the motto "keep it simple" applies

What about a anthracite / gray color? Not too silver, not black. Simple, all one color pure baderasserness.

Stopped by Hooker's this afternoon for a couple of
                  quick shots.

He got in a pro mod car to do.....so he and Jimmy
will be on that for a couple of weeks....the shoebox will
                  set for awhile.

Gives us sometime to go over some small details.

He was telling of all the countries he has shipped completed
cars to......several to Australia, some to Aruba.

Well got the bad news today... can't use
the extra hood....one shown on the car.

Hooker showed me the areas that
were bad and it just wouldn't fit
                    right.
Damn this guy is good......what looks perfect
to me, well it just isn't.

So.......I told him to use my existing one.
We know it fits and is in great shape.

I've had this happen with several other
                    project cars in the past.

The hood seems to be one of the most abused
parts on the car (besides drive train).
Given all the open and closing (slamming) it
                    goes through.

at least you have a good one to use. Better to find out now than after it's painted, as would have been the case in a shop with less quality on the mind.

This thing is going to be one of the best shoe boxes.... EVER.

My first thought was "I hope it's painted black", Traditional black will look great!
Do you even try to make a '55 look unique, I don't think so but you sure could make it look perfect.
To me the real beauty of this car is both its overall execution and the 409!
Lettering would be cool as long as it the magnetic stuff like Chad's Dad's car.

                          Another new part showed today.

I met up with Jeremy on the 348-409 Forum.
He works in the engine shop at DEI and is a
                          W guy with a 482 stroker.

Long story short......he used the CAD designer
at DEI to come up with a MLSS gasket for the
                          W motors.

This will be used when we re install the headers
                          once back from the coaters.

Way cool gasket score. Does he have any for a 250 six? Intake and exhaust gasket are one and the same and I've had a heck of a time getting the header to seal.
