I like those Offy valve covers. They totally fit the motif of the car, plus they are beefy enough to stop bullets or bludgeon an intruder with, if necessary.
I had a set on my 215 Buick in the Vega. They were nicely made and actually FLAT on the gasket edge, which not all aftermarket V/Cs are. And yes, they're STOUT! Excellent for Monk's car, for sure.
Well sad to report the Offy valve covers would
not clear the power brake booster.
It was even a chore to get the chrome one off and out
from under the booster.
We tried every way we could but those things are so damn beefy
and much taller then my chrome ones.
I retrenched.....bought a set of ss valve cover studs and with the
thicker Edelbrock gasket got my oil leak fixed.
I don't have to tell any of you how a small project can turn
into a big one.
Started at 9:30 Friday morning and didn't finish until 3:00 that
afternoon.

Took a road trip today........drove about 55 miles South
to my home town.
They have Mayfest car show everytime this time of year.
I like going to visit with old friends.
It rained until about 7:00 AM.......I waited till it cleared and
left about 10:00.
Got lots of road spray......secondary roads were still pretty wet but
a good drive.
Here's my gauges......doing about 70 mph...pulling about 2,000 rpms
with the Tremec.
My wife had an idea of staging a photo down in the city park.......same place we took one
of my '55 Chevy back in 1968.
We went to the same area.......you can see it's changed some in 43 years...me included.
Trees block the National Guard Armory in the back ground but gravel lot is still there.
Left the car there.......Junior is going to tweak a couple of my header tubes while he's off
this week.
