Bill, I ask because I want to learn, how else but from someone like you..
Something was nigging me about mismatched ports and pretty sure it was better one way than the other..
More of some interference that helps swirling effect, keeping fuel suspended for better burning of the fuel..
Too much is not as good as a little.. Some locals claimed gasket matching both intake and heads made big differences, but I felt they lost a little driveability. Possibly they set their timing a tad differently on reassembly.. I don't know..
I'll take your 2 cents to the bank any day!

I am going to run it like it is for now mainly because:

      1.) It's what I have.
2.) From what I have read recently, the TFS intakes are back ordered.
3.) The TFS is taller than the Victor and clearance to the new cowl hood is still a big question mark.

It would be a lot of fun to get some runs in with the Victor, then swap to the TFS and see if there is a marked difference.

Only thing I really see as an issue (considering the intake/exhaust ratio) is port velocity.

Some epoxy could address that. Works on 500 Cadillac heads.

That's a lot of epoxy! Gasoline with ethanol not hurt it?

How would you know what works on Caddy heads!!?? Don't you need a running vehicle to find out? (Sorry, should have issued a cheap shot alert! I was just hoping to shame you into working on said Caddy - I want to see it burn tires.)

Time and rain are my biggest enemies right now. While I love the rain (and we sure as heck need it), it makes working on the car very difficult.

So while it is wet outside, I am trying to get everything else done that does not actually involve the car. One of the major things has been a transmission mount. The old mount needed to be modified to clear the headers and subsequently I was never real happy with how I did it. I have played with bending some tubing to fabricate a new one.

Old mount. It ended up being a little too flexible.

Current thought process. I have a new bar bent up that mimics the old one, but it seems a little ridiculous to bend a bar 5 times when I could bend one twice and make some nice brackets that sandwich the floor pan near the stock mounts. The pic below is not my car, it is how another guy took 2 stock cross members and made one with 2 big humps.

The other thought it is build it like TeamZ (I think) except add a drop down boxed section to maintain a rubber mount. (TeamZ's is a solid mount.)

Ummmm.....good question. This one was race gas only at 12.5-1 compression.

Yeah, Dan. It keeps calling to me too. Honestly, where does all my time go?

On topic, I like the other thought. Mimic the teamz with a section of channel or such welded in the middle.

Or find another single hump and make one of those high-hump custom models. That is slick!

Cleveland heads are famous for epoxy jobs too, or "port plates" which I guess work pretty good.

KISS applies - run with what you have - it's still going to be barrel of monkeys fun and fast, if the miss match was the other way, it would be a shame, as is - RUN IT.

What have we here? Could it be the second best use for a golf club evarrrrrr? (The best use is holding the hatch open on my Durango.)

I really like the 2=1 double hump trans crossmember idea. They can't be that hard to find, eh?

Me too. There's one for 20.00 south of Austin on CL ... maybe he'll ship?

Can you weld a couple angle iron or beam to the top of the old one and strengthen it up?

I have a golf club around here somewhere. Never thought about prop rod, I think it's a door wedge at the moment. I liberated some errant shop vac tube, cuz I'd lose the club.

and yeah, I know. I need to mow. I'm overhauling a mower transmission as we speak. For reals.

As I age I do a lot more stuff with the phone - like replace the missing shingle up on our roof. Besides, I'm allergic to heights - and grass pollen.

The more I don't work, the more allergic I get to spending money. Besides that, I had to do some "engineering" and "machining" on the mower, which I actually enjoyed! Honda wants 100.00 for the transmission and apparently doesn't sell the gearset in it separately, and makes it impossible to work on without modifying something. I don't actually mind mowing since it puts me in a "state of mindless" ... for somebody as a.d.d as I can be, that's a peaceful thing. This isn't my mower though - it's my Mower's mower. Mine is a Snapper and you beat it with a hammer when it acts up. The Honda is supposed to start and mow without complaint so that I don't hear any complaints from the Mower or the mower. haha.

James seems to not mind spending money, and then sometimes he seems adamantly opposed to it. I'm actually surprised to have not seen some square tubing like what was used for the go-kart making a new transmission crossmember.
