These tubes should work fine. I'm going to mark the tire/wheel to keep track of them slipping on the rim just to be safe.

My bias ET Streets don't leak and they have no tubes. These ET Drags have always leaked around the bead. The leaked bad enough that I'd have to add air when I'm at the track. Thought about using bead sealer, then decided to just skip straight to tubes and be done with it.

The stuff they use to mount/dismount tires is supposed to help seal the beads too... Wire brush the beads on the rims..
We do not like to use much f that stuff when we mount out tires as aloy (most) of the time we mount 2 tires on one rim with a tube..
We also screw our's on the rims.. Kinda hard for you to use screws due to balance issues..
Having the valve on the tube disappear into the tire sucks big time..

Many of us stick guys suck at launching ~1.92 is my be best 60ft. Now that the 8.5" is out and the 9" is in, I plan on being more aggressive on the launch.

Randal, what is the rpm limit of an EDIS-8 module?

I don't actually know, as I've never used the system and can't seem to find any direct reference to it in the MegaSquirt literature. One forum reference I found said "Okay at 8,000rpm and not okay at 9,000rpm" and another forum reference said "8600rpm is the limit", but this was off a simple google search.

Sooooooo what are you thinking? You aren't getting sick of your HEI are you, lol IF you put a megasquirt unit in there to control timing, go the route Bill did and just get the wasted spark coil packs and skip the EDIS module itself. All the megasquirts can pretty much control 4 spark outputs now, which is all you need for a wasted spark setup. The EDIS module only required one MS spark output for timing control to the module, hence it worked quite well for the early software versions, but with the options today, the EDIS module does not allow for 2-step and other rev limiting functions.

Weeeeellllll...... My old MS1-extra box may be coming home soon. Considered using it to run an EDIS-8 box and go distributorless or use it to control a TFI distributor. I have read that the EDIS-8's may not function over 6000 rpm so that is why I was asking.

HEI's are good modules... Used to use them in the derby cars.. Stock take offs were better than aftermarket and over the counter replacements..
When we went to a motor that can handle 6000 RPMs, the modules started dying.. Of course you do not throttle up and down over 15-30 or more minutes at a time.. The MSD "ready to run" without the box really is a good system for what we do..
Makes me wonder just how much you are leaving on the table?

Oddly enough, I thought 6,000rpm was their limit too, but did not find any thing to support that thought, plus they came on engines I that I thought had a 6,500rpm redline

Short of the EDIS, you could with that MegaSquirt just stick the TFI distributor back in there without the module, run the VR sensor wire into the MS (I think the 2.2 board can do that??) and have it's single spark output wire control a single ignition coil. Or if you do the crank trigger thing, it can still control one ignition coil.

This has MS1-EXTRA firmware that will do several different types of ignition. I need to research it more before I decide how I want to do it.

This thing has pretty much just sat on a shelf since I sold back in 2010. Colt said he had no use for it since he has moved on to MS3, so he just gave it to me. Lol.

The software is capable of running wasted spark coil packs, but I'm not sure the hardware on the 2.2 board can, or at least without the EDIS.

IDK, but I'll figure it out. I think it needs a coil driver board to directly fire the wasted spark coils.

Connected it up to the stim and Tuner Studio and it is just as I left it 5 years ago. lol Looks like everything is working just like it should. yee haw!
