That looks good! That wheel looks beefier than I imagined.

Before it is all set in stone, I plan on rigging up a test to make sure the sensor is not affected by the hatchet. I really don't think it will, but better to find out before I have it all mounted on the engine instead of after!Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

More pieces to this electron shuffling puzzle arrived yesterday. Coils, wiring, 2 EFISource Coil Igniters (1 spare) and some spare connectors.

Nice machine work, it's knowing what to do with what you have that counts. How many times have you seen or read about a professional shop screwing up something. It happens.TomOverdrive is overrated

I hadn't commented here on the sweet machining of the trigger wheel! Well done! I wouldn't expect any issue with the hatchet weight messing with the signal where the wheel sits in the picture.Escaped on a technicality.Comment

I have not begun the ignition upgrade yet, but seeing all the Drag Weekend stuff had me jonesin' to go to the track. So Saturday, Judd and I loaded up and headed out for a little fun.
Car ran good. Judd was a big help prepping the car and had a great time. The only issue I had all day (except for the part where I forgot to turn on the fan on the way to get teched in and the engine hit 240+ degrees then the starter refused to turn it over after getting teched but finally did after letting it cool for a little while...) was a stumble right at the hit. This is something new and I attributed it to probably having winter blend gas in the tank. It seemed to do it worse when I had to sit in the staging lanes longer so I felt like it was probably just a percolation issue. Still even with the hiccup, the car ran its best ever in Amarillo, 10.68 @ 128. AFR's were a consistent 12.5 at WOT. We played with timing a little and the last run was probably my elusive 10.5x pass had it not stumbled so badly off the line. Due to the stumble, the 60 foot was a tenth slower than the previous pass, but still ran a 10.75 @ 128.5.
Crew chief Judd changing tires.
And happily back home once again. No runs, no drips, no errors.

nice! You gotta get some work out of that kiddo before he grows up and is doing his own thing
I got to run my quickest time ever at my home track on Drag Weekend...after fighting a missing issue....it's fun when things go right, isn't it?

Yes it is! I think your car liked the new condenser!
Judd's to the point he just starts doing stuff when we get to the track. I don't have to tell him what to do.
I guess I programmed him well!

Well the "list racing" stuff has kicked off again around here. 2 lists, big tire and small tire. I knew a bunch of fast cars were going to show up, but I decided to jump in and see if I was quick enough to make the list.
Car didn't run any quicker than before despite the fact the stumble was gone. (which was def fuel related). I ended up #7 on the small tire list and I am 99% sure I was the only n/a car running and certainly the only car that pulled a trailer vs. being pulled on a trailer. lol
The HEI ignition is acting funny (losing spark at sustained rpm) so that may fast track the ignition upgrade. I think I have all the parts to upgrade, just need the time!
I've had a stash of parts to upgrade the rear end to 33 spline axles, and a spool, 5/8" studs, etc for a while so I decided to go ahead and put it together with the 3.90 gears I originally had in this car. This car has traditionally been slow to the 330 so I'm hoping this will help a bit. I mocked everything up Saturday and was out looking at it in the garage yesterday. Judd comes out and asks what I am doing, I tell him that I was just looking at everything. He points out that it is only 2 o'clock, so we had plenty of time to pull out the rear end out. Soooooo, out it came. haha. We had time to pull the old rear end and get the 3.90's in the other housing and all set up. All I have left to do is weld some arb tabs on this housing and it will be ready to bolt in the car.
Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.
